1. The new Opterons run existing 32 bit apps faster than AMD's own Athlons as the same clock speeds.
2. Joe user may not need it yet but Joe game developer has been demanding it!. In the end Joe user gets better games and entertainment because the developers spend less time fighting the limits of their workstations.
3. Game servers for hard core gamers are improved.
Also as pointed out on the news. Many of the coalition forces are support personnel, where as the Iraq forces are mostly ground troups and tanks.
Iraq will want to keep its advantage in numbers and will make the coalition forces come to them.
They know that if they take tanks and troups out into the open desert that the coalition forces will lay wast to them in no time.

Its called Run As.. It should be in every NT version of windows and its in the Right Click menu.. (I think you have to hold Shift or Ctrl some times) Lets you try and run an app as any user you know the login too.
Thats why you should check your report every few years.
I found unpaid cable bills in the amount of $200+ on my report. After calling to investigate I found that the bills belonged to another person with the same First and Last name. They cleared the issue with in a month.
I have now found that at lease 2 other people in my city have the same First Name and Last name as I do. I get calls from collection agents looking for them all the time. Its very anoying.
As anyone SHOULD expect.. The Kylix team admits they are 1 to 2 versions behind the Delphi team in terms of features.. They aslo have the huge task of trying to take care of the underlying complexity of the Linux platform for the developers. Delphi just wraps the WinAPI for the most part which just gets a few more features each version of windows where Kylix uses QT for all its GUI and has to interface with all of the other things that makeup Linux. Linux systems can differ greatly in terms of the librarys installed and the way each Distro is compiled and packaged.
If Kylix sells well I would expect to to catch up shortly.
Well you can download a demo at Borlands website.
I learned MS C++, MFC programing before finding Delphi. Borlands IDE makes development quick an painless.
Delphi is most often used as a RAD tool for building frontends to databases, so you see it used A LOT in large companies for inhouse tools, but it is able to build any type of app or dll that you would want.
Many popular apps are also writen in Delphi but sometimes it takes a keen eye to pick them out.

To name a few that you may have heard of
Strange Windows update currently gives me 3 levels of update options..
1. Download them my self and recieve only notifications.
2. Download updates and prompt for which ones to install.
3. Auto install all updates.
But Microsoft has indicated that in the furture that will be no choice and all updates will be pushed on you whether you like it or not.
That would just result in you having a PC that got slower and slower with out telling you untill it was crawling along.. Intels P4 thermal managment just underclocks the CPU until the temp is safe or the PC is so slow you cant work on it any more.
On another note intells laptop chips underclock there performance by 50% as soon as you switch to battery mode.. So that 2.2Ghz you paied for is nothing more that a 1.1 when your on the road.
Thats the key.. I don't to phone support for family that often unless I am sure the answer is simple.
I usually just say that I can't help them without SEEING the computer and well that is ususaly enough.. They don't feel brushed off or offended and I don't have to spend hours listening to some one read thier screen screen to me a screen at a time.
I bought a refurb xbox and it died So what does that have to do with MS? Who refurbed it?
The X_box repairs seem to cost so much be cause the units are sold UNDER COST and the repairs are not.
1. Games my PC is my entertainment centre
2. Hardware everything from USB scanners to VIVO video cards are easyer to get support and drivers for.
3. Office compatibitly.. I am currently running OpenOffice along side office 2000. Recently I noticed a HUGE formatting error in a VERY importan doc I had exported from OpenOffice to doc format.. I had to open MS Office 200o to correct the formating before sending it.
4.GUI, everything in windows can be easily found and configured from the GUI. Even the best distros have not reached the point of avoiding droping to the console completely.
5.GUI consistancy.. With apps being developed for Gnome, KDE, ect. Often apps lack the same look and feel and ofen compatibly for simple tasks such as copy and paste.
6.Installing apps in windows is just easier. Apt Get and RPMs help but are no where near as easy as windows apps with a simple installer.
7. Apps. The apps I want and use are windows only.
8. Fonts, when are the distros going to start including readable fonts.
9. Gaim is no match for Trillian
10. Better web brouwsing.. Yes the new Mozilla is very nice.. but when it comes to viewing sites with flash, quicktime or other common plugins support seems to be shaky.
Thats probably because the movie part of the Extended edition is 2 disk long with about 6 alternate audio tracks including 6.1 and 5.1 audio, several differant commontaries and one alternate language track.. The movie part could have fit on one DVD if it where not for the audio tracks.
Thats the best feature of google.. It spell checks your search and if no results return with your spelling it switches to what it thinks is the correct spelling.. IF both return results it has a link at the top to try its spelling.
Hmm lets see after the last batch of Desk Stars who is going to trust thier data to these larger version.. Almost every tech sit that has reviewed an IBM has had to RMA a few of them.. Even I had one die.. IBM never issued a recall and luck me it was under warrenty and I had backup..
Once bitten twice shy.
Thats why I mentioned SETI.. Some teams are taking 99% completed units then copying them to other team members to complete.. SETI currently does integrity checks by having the same unit calculated several times then taking the most common result.. If someone takes a flawed result at 99% then everyone on that team finnishes it they flawed result will be the accepted answer.. Integrity in a competitive open environment will be one of the biggest problems for any future open projects..
Probably for security.. The largest and longest running projects such as SETI have had to deal with CHEATING and haking of thier work units.. By keeping it in house and running mosting on HIGH end trusted systems they can still get the job done for less money and quickly.

O and it costs almost twice as much.. but has a nicer case
They have been interviewed several times on TV and never had any numbers as to EVERY paying anything out.. They quicky start talking about how the costs of collection and the costs of trying to get HIGHER leveys is using up all the funds.. It all seems to be a HUGE fraud.
Canada takes a levy on all CD-R media (even "data" media that don't work in "stereo components") and gives it to songwriters, recording artists, and publishers who sign up to get royalties from the government.
Thats only partly correct.
1. The government doesn't collect it its NOT a tax its a levy, a private organization called CPCC (Canadian Private Copying Collective) collects it.
2. Its been in place for about 2 years AND NOT A SINGLE ARTS HAS SEEN A PENNY!!!!!!
More info here http://www.sycorp.com/levy/
NASA thought that using a pencil put the onboard compters at risk of sorting if a led broke and floated into the system.. You would also have to be very carefull with the shavings.
then again you see them playing with large drops of water floating in the cabin.....
According to http://www.zdnet.com/anchordesk/stories/story/0,10 738,2884933,00.html MS will still lock the content if the recorder picksup the special copyprotection marker in the broadcast... So as soon as the content providers turn this on have fun sitting infrunt of your multimeda PC watching your shows.
