Believe it or not, this doesn't seem to be the most serious problem NZ is facing in the future. This fucking labour government has done so much damage everywhere but that's a long story. To stay on topic, check this - it's unbelievable.
Comforting fact is that good schools would never put up with this shit. Every year more parents and kids realise the benefit of CIE programme.
I just did the first set of tests (feelings) on that site. Did it quickly, so the end result is probably not totally accurate but it can't be too far off either. What I like about the site is the educational approach. Helping people to understand these type of problems is important first step to healing.
What I don't like about it, is that my results chart is almost identical as Cyberman's. No feelings.
I didn't read TFA but as I'm seeing the same thing, I think it's the issue with livna (that's what I enabled) or some other third party repo (actually bug in a way totem-xine is packeged). It can be unchecked in the pup window and rest of the update goes fine.
gstreamer plugins (ugly and nice ones) work perfectly, so totem can now be used for pretty much every media format without too much hassle.
FC6 looks rock solid to me - Fedora community and Red Hat have created outstanding product.
No, no it's even better - I work over the network and you just sit there and pretend/act. That's way cooler so your (our) part of the will might include some extra perks.
I have better one though - you install linux and call me to do work. No work permit needed (I can do stuff remotely), although it would be appreciated if you are US or Italy based.
I wonder what is it that she knows about Windows? Does she double-click icons in some other way? Or is it that she can't switch because she is a devoted gamer?
Well, he said "English" - word in question is Latin. Just a typo, probably.
As to the buzzwords problem - I don't think that's as bad as it used to be. Employers have finally figured that this was such a huge waste of everybody's time. At least in NZ, major job site mostly contains straight forward job ads, with clearly listed requirements.
Heh. I actually did this. Response was mixed - from complete ignorance (recruitment agents) to positive surprise by some (tech) hiring people. I fell of a chair when one email reply started with:
I just installed it and noticed that non-standard tcp ports are restricted by default now (I don't remember this being an issue for previous versions). If anybody needs fix:
in about:config right-click, chose new, string and enter:
network.security.ports.banned.override
and comma-delimited list of ports as a string value.
Not sure about 2.0 (I suppose it's the same) but you could always do it by opening View-->Toolbars-->Customize window and dragging 'Go' button back into it.
You are absolutelly wrong about RHCE certification. This one is almost impossible to obtain unless you really know what you're doing, since the exam is performance based. You sit on actual computer and you're supposed to fix whatever is wrong with it (first part of the exam). If you are not able to, you don't even get to proceed to the other part - configure RH server as per given specs (this may include any or all of the DNS, DHCP, Email, web, NFS, users, you name it services/functions).
So, when crapware hits Vista through some future IE flaw, they are going to blame workshop technicians again, until the release of the latest and greatest windows ever (in 2014?). It's sad but likely to happen.

You know that this post of yours was the one for breaking /. database, do you? Quite an achievement!
Moderators are going to hate you. Is it +1, Funny or -1, Irreparably Depressed?

Nothing really. Until the next morning.

Wouldn't it be quicker to just replace ! with #?

Well put. BTW, is this your normal nick or purposefuly created just for this story?
Sound plan.
:o)

Now, about that will...
Thank you. I got really confused with contradictory answers to original poster's question. Now I know!

Hi, Karma Whore
Application however is now called Seamonkey.
HTH
Yes, obviously. That was good tip indeed.

I thought self respecting slashdotters don't use web browser in question.
H.Ford must have given him some tips on mac hacking

Thanks. Please expect the bill from my optometrist in next few days.
You may want to read release notes for 2.16. BTW, since last night this version is included with Fedora rawhide (just updated FC6, test2).
That'd be reasonable thing to do in your case. However, can hardly count as a redundant network access for home - that's your workplace.
