I think the reluctance of shops to stock Prof Toliens other material is because of the constant issues of his dad's notes and half finished tales that Christopher Tolkien dished out for so many years. I think the LotR is brilliant, but I haven't got time to read through anyones 'works in progress'.
. . . they're sampling the programs that are being recorded. Record your favorite shows! Even if you're watching them live! If they would have sold this data last year we could have saved Firefly, Futurama, and Farscape.
It's been a long time since I've written anything out by hand. I wonder what a collection like this in the futre about a current well known figure would look like? "The Collected E-Mails of George W Bush"
There are still, at this point, too many regulatory issues with this for it to be passed. True, the FCC is conducting a dozen or so field tests, but if they get serious about it they will issue a notice of intent to get comments from the people concerned.
No, not an April Fool's joke. Peter Jackson's desire to re-make King Kong goes way back. In fact, he had the go ahead in 1997 to make it, even completing a script. When the project was cancelled by Universal, Peter found another project to keep himself busy (hint: it was a trilogy).
There definitely needs to be a change in how patent infringement cases are tried. Right now they are heard in front of a jury of 12 laymen pulled off the street. In fact, anyone that does have experience in the related field is likely to be thrown off of the jury, since they may have a preconceived notion about the case at hand. Patent trials need to be heard by individuals that, at least, UNDERSTAND what the case is actually about.
The company I work for was recently sued for patent infringement by some yahoo that claims that he invented hierarchal relationships in DBs. Every programmer there laughed. It was absurd since they were already in use at the time he claims to have invented it. But he WON! And the cost of an appeal could make it not worth while financially (appeals are heard in front of "experts", though).
Crazy. Things like this should never get to court!
Actually, the show isn't officially over. SMG just won't do anymore. It is possible (however pathetic) that the show could continue without her. It wouldn't be the first time a show has continued after the title character left. Welcome back Kotter continued after the title character left. I know there's better examples, but I'm only on my second cup of coffee.
Two years and 6 million dollars in developement to come up with a lame ass toy that'll disapear a month after the produvt is PA'd! I've been playing guitar to 15 years and playing with computers just as long. This looks stupid to me. Concept-wise, mildly interesting, but as and actual instrument - stupid!
Lucas has already stated that Ep 3 won't feature much of anything about the clone wars. Maybe a bit of the aftermath. This is a bit disapointing, since many invisioned the Clone Wars as being a battle on the epic scale (generations long over several solar systems). Now, it appears to be more of a skirmish.
So, this cartoon series could turn out to be more interesting them ep3. Especially since more people than just George are coming up with the stories.
But... isn't that what your Hotmail account is for? To give to companies you know are going to SPAM you. I log on to my Hotmail once a week to delete 200 SPAMs. I don't use this account for any real pursose, only as an address to give when e-mail is required to download software, etc.
Why does MS think that it is their place to enforce copyright law? The fact that they are enforcing it wrongly is secondary, they have no business even getting involved.
Who's going to determine what's offensice, here? If the player is going to seamlessly skip offensice sections of the movie, then those sections need to be tagged somehow. But, what one person finds offensive is not the same as the next. In my opinion, all the Anakin/Padme dialog in Attack of the Clones should tagged as offensive.
Project Prometheus? Sure, name it after a guy that got chained to a rock and forced to have a bird eat his liver for all eternity. Might as well start off on the wrong foot.

. . . or global? Are we sending letters to Alpha Centauri now?

Reminds me of a Coke commercial!

... the RIAA has been heard screaming, "You are our BITCH!!"
Sharks don't kill people, looking like a seal does.
Explosions don't kill people, debris does.
Knives don't kill people, a thrusting motion does.
. . . I haven't got enough memory.
"Ok, buy em out, boys!"

I claim this patent in the name of MARS!
and next to the batteries, they found a 2,000 year old walk man and a few CDs. Nothing too interesting, though. Mainly dinosaur rock.

So, that means that MS has the largest db of pr0n titles ever!

the Home Theater Forum. These guys live for this stuff. Search/Post in the audio/visual or display devices sections.
Yes,that's right. There are other news sources, /. is not responsible for every crashed server out there.
