  1. Probably because of Chris's publications on Tales From The Perilous Realm · · Score: 4, Informative

I think the reluctance of shops to stock Prof Toliens other material is because of the constant issues of his dad's notes and half finished tales that Christopher Tolkien dished out for so many years. I think the LotR is brilliant, but I haven't got time to read through anyones 'works in progress'.

  12. It's True on Peter Jackson remaking King Kong · · Score: 1

No, not an April Fool's joke. Peter Jackson's desire to re-make King Kong goes way back. In fact, he had the go ahead in 1997 to make it, even completing a script. When the project was cancelled by Universal, Peter found another project to keep himself busy (hint: it was a trilogy).

  13. Needs to be a change! on Browser Cookie Patent · · Score: 3, Interesting
There definitely needs to be a change in how patent infringement cases are tried. Right now they are heard in front of a jury of 12 laymen pulled off the street. In fact, anyone that does have experience in the related field is likely to be thrown off of the jury, since they may have a preconceived notion about the case at hand. Patent trials need to be heard by individuals that, at least, UNDERSTAND what the case is actually about.

The company I work for was recently sued for patent infringement by some yahoo that claims that he invented hierarchal relationships in DBs. Every programmer there laughed. It was absurd since they were already in use at the time he claims to have invented it. But he WON! And the cost of an appeal could make it not worth while financially (appeals are heard in front of "experts", though).

Crazy. Things like this should never get to court!

Actually, the show isn't officially over. SMG just won't do anymore. It is possible (however pathetic) that the show could continue without her. It wouldn't be the first time a show has continued after the title character left. Welcome back Kotter continued after the title character left. I know there's better examples, but I'm only on my second cup of coffee.

  19. No Clone War in Ep 3. on "Clone Wars" Cartoon Shorts on Cartoon Network · · Score: 2, Interesting
Lucas has already stated that Ep 3 won't feature much of anything about the clone wars. Maybe a bit of the aftermath. This is a bit disapointing, since many invisioned the Clone Wars as being a battle on the epic scale (generations long over several solar systems). Now, it appears to be more of a skirmish.

So, this cartoon series could turn out to be more interesting them ep3. Especially since more people than just George are coming up with the stories.

Who's going to determine what's offensice, here? If the player is going to seamlessly skip offensice sections of the movie, then those sections need to be tagged somehow. But, what one person finds offensive is not the same as the next. In my opinion, all the Anakin/Padme dialog in Attack of the Clones should tagged as offensive.
