There's a difference between general spam that is usually blocked and the specific sites that might send me spam and require an Email address to register. For example, I didn't know whether Facebook will send me spam when I registered so I used my Hotmail account, after several months I changed it to my main account.
How about a friggin' upload progress bar? I've seen it done on other sites so I know it shouldn't be too hard for them to implement. Why can't Google have upload progress bars on it sites, Gmail and Googlepages especially?
I was wondering, when they render for stereoscopic 3D do they have to do twice the work or are there optimizations that make rendering the second image faster than the first?
Wow, does what you just wrote actually make sense to you?
First, no one claimed it formed in 2000 years, they claimed it's 2000 years old, which means that 2000 years ago it crossed some kind of semantic barrier that switched it from being a ball of compact space debris to something we should call a planet.
Second, the people who believe the earth was created ~6000 years ago also believe that it was created in what was it, three days?
The point being made here is that him working as a security guard is in no way relevant. He's been teaching at the Bar-Ilan university since 1995. The summary makes it sound like he was a security guard doing math in his spare time.
I know that's Google's business model and all but I had to load up Gmail and it took me a few seconds to confirm this. I wonder what percentage of the population has ad-blindness.
I bought an 8800 GTS because I wanted to both play games and do some 3D, Compositing work. It seems though that the combination of 8800 GTS, Windows XP x64 and Maya is not a very good one, my viewports seem to freeze after orbiting around for a while, sometimes it gets sluggish. Since only the Quadro line is certified for this sort of work nVidia doesn't seem too eager to fix those issues.
If could, I'd return this card and get a Quadro.

Am I the only one not caring about tags and unaware of their utility? I've never seen a "what could possibly go wrong" tag but I've seen quite a few posts complaining about them.
Must be because I'm using RSS and haven't visited the main page in weeks.
I very much doubt that elimination of these 'errors' in a significant part of the earth's population would be financially feasible, and even if it was, there would be large groups of people that would avoid it due to theological and other reasons.
This strengthens the impression that Vista is the second iteration of Windows Me which was also replaced by a new OS rater quickly (about a year) after being found to suck donkey balls.
Far as I can remember it took like 20 minutes to complete. Now imagine the benefit of having a mandatory highschool class that spans the school year and includes some hands-on practice on dummies.
I've conducted an experiment today wherein several massive objects (1) were released in mid-air at which point they did indeed plummet to the ground in the general direction of the earth's center of mass thus confirming the theory of gravitation. I am in the process of writing a paper right now and expect this advance in our understanding of the physical world to be prominently featured in the next issue of Nature.
Hmm, Maya does run on Linux, I sympathize with you on the other (mostly Adobe) stuff though.

I use it when I sign up for things I'm not sure I can trust not to spam my main address and check on it once a month or so.
Ahh crap, and I spelled xkcd wrong.
I have quite a few.
Apple Trailers - New movie trailers.
BlizzCast - Blizzard podcast, not that great.
GameTrailers - Latest game trailers.
The Perry Bible Fellowship - Amusing comics though seem dead lately.
Penny Arcade - Enough said.
TED Talks - Insightful talks about many subjects.
Three Panel Soul - Mac Hall is dead, long live Three Panel Soul.
Video Copilot - Nice video compositing tutorials.
xkcs - Master of all geek webcomics.
Zero Punctuation - Game reviews amusing enough you don't need to care about the game.
EZTV - Scene TV torrent releases.
Releaselog - General scene torrent releases.
And there's of course Slashdot which currently has 126 unread stories, I'm sure I'll get to them sometime.
As an artist I think I'd rather someone make money off of my work than take credit for it.

I believe the only true measurement when it comes to head hair is whether it's growing on you ass.
Running it with more times the objects
Running it using less power.
Running it cooler (no need for fan).
This is literally an aimbot and you equip it with a shotgun, what gives?

So what you're saying is that the only way to achieve open DRM is by practicing zen buddhism?

Come on, we're sixty five comments in and no mention of cake?
Surely, there must be some cake!

School officials expel students for illegal asteroid use after reading their blog.
Makes me wonder.
Has anyone ever equipped bats with headphones that control them remotely?
Looking at the screenshots of Simcity 2000 I'm pretty sure it's pixelart.
I might be wrong though, do you happen to have anything to support that?
