Over 40 years ago, one of my college professors was entertaining visitors from Singapore. He had just obtained a brand new HP programmable calculator, and unable to contain his glee, he had to show them his newest high-tech toy. Their response? "Yes, we make those".
Although I'm not a fan of fracking, it's entirely possible this is preventing more devastating quakes by relieving stress in these faults in smaller increments.
Decades ago, my uncle who spent his life chasing one get-rich-quick scheme or another was telling me of his latest investment opportunity.
He had invested with a man who had built a device that could be pointed at a hillside and provide a readout of the proportions of the various elements within. Considering the possibilities of magnetic resonance, I was ready to grant his story a bit of credence. When he then told me you could take a photograph of a hillside and the same device could make the same analysis, he lost me entirely.
On a side note, they never did locate the Lost Dutchman mine.
Now let's spice it up a bit with secret Soviet era technology and a little multi-spectral satellite imagery. Would you like to buy a few shares?
If you purchased them new, you are allowed to keep them for your own use, but you are not allowed to share them with others, or sell them as used. It's OK to read aloud as long as no one is in earshot. Ooops, that is not current law, just what the publishers would like to see.
'68 in Vietnam in a rude house in a tiny village a fourth grade girl was working on her homework. I looked to see what she was doing. She was studying set theory, the exact same material my brother was working on in high school, back in the states.

I think those first years are the most critical. A couple good teachers at the start can immunize your kids against several turkeys down the road.
Perhaps you have put your finger on the problem.
She's got you folks in a panic, doesn't she?

Perhaps writing efficient code will come back into style.
So, to be safe, they will just have to assume the worst.
Curse control. I love it. We could use more of it.
Make that 100 drops of water. 20 drops per gram.
