  1. the ignorance is obscene on 4 GB May Be Vista's RAM Sweet Spot · · Score: 0

Vista tries to predict your program use by monitoring you work habits it learns you run office every morning so it loads your mail app well in advance and keeps it in memory. Vista will make use of any available memory whereas xp only took what it needed i think its called super-fetch or something. Its a feature!

  9. irrellevant on Blu-ray Coming Out On Top? · · Score: 1

soon after release you will be able to buy a blu-ray burner all you have to do is rip the protection and 'roll your own' just like we do with dvd today. copy protection is doomed to fail because the scheme is fixed you only have to break it once and anything using that scheme is also unlocked.

  10. tee on IEEE 1394 (FireWire) Testing? · · Score: 1, Insightful

The external tee command is used to write to the standard output and to a file simultaneously. You place the tee command anywhere in a pipe command to divert a copy of the standard input (of tee) to disk and another copy to your terminal. Thus its name is from the world of plumbing; it allows one input and two outputs. The tee command actually allows multiple file copies. For example, sort unsorted | tee sorted | cut -c-20,41- | tee cutup | lp from: http://www.softpanorama.org/Tools/tee.shtml
