Can you say "Bloat-Ware"?? Those clients are changed every 4 months. Huge client that just bogs down Windows and adds 30 seconds to boot up time. Tried using thier software to have a linux box connect to a netware server and ran into serious problems also. They suck and should focus all their energy into Groupwise which was the only product I ever saw from them that worked well.
what is the fricken code that is causing all the problems?? Show me where so I can "Else if" around the crap. It probably only enables a fricken serial port that's obsolete anyway.
Great way to spend tax money. What, do they have like a million psycho Doctorates dreaming up this crap in basements somewhere? "With hypersonic bombers we can have intercontinental ballistics without all the hysteria caused by the word 'Missles'! That way we can optimise our blast radius to 50 meters with little collateral damage at only a billion dollars per mission!" Of course the only reason this leaked to the public is to satiate our appetites for more nitro, blood, and burns, allowing us to disregard the giant sucking sound of the economy spiraling closer to collapse. What, are defense contracts like these really going to pull California back from complete insolvency by August? Can these people really get any more paranoid?
Please elaborate. I'm a proficient linux user and I have a few DVD's I'd like to back up to divx and this sounds like an efficient method. Your email address is not listed on/. but *Please* can you provide me with more detailed instructions? i.e. which ripper do you use and which distributed divx compression app do you use?
What's an alternative to land mines? Punji sticks? As far as anti-tank or vehicle, couldn't they use a non lethal means of disabling the vehicle like an EMP blast? Or maybe children can wear IR tags to instantly disable any land mine they step on? If the mines are tagged for GPS ID, why not allow the children unfettered access to sirens in case they stumble too closely to a mine? Just some stupid ideas but with the military wanting these things, and are able to make smart 'bombs'; why not invest in making smart mines?
I've used Palm Pilots, Cell Phones with PDA's, Outlook, laptops and Desktops, and above all, the most effective device I've found for taking notes, calendaring events, and reaching project goals is my Franklin Planner. If at all possible, try to get to a Franklin Covey retail store and take a Time Management class. It teaches you how to use your planner effectively, and how to set future goals and learn your values. You'll learn to prioritize your daily tasks, plan for the week, month, year, and for that matter, the rest of your life. It's like a good map - you can steer your course away from your destination, but it will always show you the way back.
There is now software that will print out additional pages for large projects, as well as identifying your values and synch with PDA's and Outlook should you need it. Outlook is great for setting appointments and communication but nothing beats a Franklin Planner for setting goals and reaching them!
Of course, you'll need a machine to type up papers, an old laptop will do the trick, and a good quality printer like the Canon i950 if possible.
Invest in orbital scrap yards instead! Launch some huge magnets into space, and start collecting. Then you power up your bases with the junk and take new missions. When rival junk yards compete for the same scrap, blast 'em with your photon beams! Soon all your bases are belong to us! AHHAHAH
Hopefully the each gun and laser will be tagged somehow by it's burn, entrance/exit wounds, or some other means of identifying the gun that fired the beam. If a criminal got a hold of one of these things, it would be impossible to identify a hole.
Future Headlines:
"The police found a laser gun near the scene of the crime but cannot know if it was the gun that fired the lethal shots. There are no projectiles left at the scene, however, the victim looks like swiss cheese".
A different dimension. Maybe another alternate universe. Our donut may be one of many other donuts. As far as 4th-dimensional creatures like us our concerned, if you could look from 'outside' our universe, everything could look like a big blob within a dark void, or what you should ask yourself is what would our universe look like from the inside? Superstrings may be tiny (Planck's Scale) looped strings wrapped up into 10 dimensions. Should you be able to consiously envelope yourself within one of these dimensions, most likely, time, space, light, and sound wouldn't be anything like you know it.
To clarify my post, the strings themselves are thought to be 10 dimensions, and our 'visible' universe is I guess 4 dimensions, (3 dimensions plus space and time).
But in regards to our bubble popping, it is possible, given the uncertainty principle, that our universe's physics could break down, wiping out our universe as we know it at the speed of light. We wouldn't know what hit us.
A popular theory is that our universe is but a bubble (or doughnut) in a sea of other universe bubbles (or doughnuts); contained and wrapped up into about 10 dimensions. But looking at our universe from another dimension, it may have the appearance of an O or just some contorted blob of goo. This is depending on the relative point and dimension of the observer.
Screw the eMachines, put together two machines - I just set up two complete 1.3 Ghz Duron PC's for just $210 a piece. For $400 you can set yourself up a mini cluster for rendering twice the speed of a $1500 Mac!
Only $450, guaranteed to shield your new nForce2 AMD motherboard from all air-burst, directed, non-directed, land, sea, underground, and satelite based EMP strikes. 4-inch thick lead/kevlar CD-Rom/floppy hinged doors for added protection.
Oh yeah, this would make a great weapon. Simply put the 1200kw generator, 80 foot cylinder, and 4 air compressors in your backpack, point the contraption at your enemy and *splat* - you've got yourself a gib.
You know, DARPA has some really neat projects also. Would anyone know some resources for finding jobs to bid on for the military? Most of those PHD's at Darpa I'm sure need a good generalist/technician...
I was wondering when this post would appear!
Linux aside, this cray sounds like a cluster in-of itself. I wonder what the difference is between a super-computer and a cluster? The case?
Light is simply the vibration of super strings. So why can't these folks say that in their theories? Polarization of light? You mean a polarized vibration of strings in the 4th dimension? So what if they find "Light from 14 billion years ago". These so-called "News Stories" are only perpetuating an Einstien mindset of light being "Particles" or "Waves" where in fact the only 'particles' are the certain vibrations of super strings in different dimensions. Give us all a break and help us understand the universe as it is understood today, rather than that of theories 50 years ago.
Yeah, and a *true* whacker! - 5 gigs of ????
Priceless

Sweet, now my order for certain items *cough* that they sell *cough* in Amsterdam *cough* will get there that much faster.
YEah! And hack Saddam's email! - wait, we already did that.
