Fences have reputations just like any other businessman. You sell crap all the time and no one will buy off you.
Everyone knows how to get stolen goods?
"Yeah, I just walk into a bar and people come up to me all the time asking if I want to buy a DVD player"
Seriously, people in bars sell stolen meat and duty free cigarettes - end of story.
Petty criminals operate in circles of other petty criminals. You aren't part of the circle; you aren't going to be offered anything. Money back guarantees are not monopolised by the retail industry either.
Sorry for the 'me too!' post but this is very true.
The first thing I noticed when I swapped from analogue cable to digital cable was the drop in quality. There are also instances where the signal degrades and a few frames are displayed as black. The crappy set top box software is laughable too - forever crashing, show wrong program details, cutting the audio, mixing the audio from the wrong channel... 'Interactive' is a slow version of a crappy AOL WWW.
You are correct. GNER did not cause the deaths at Hatfield.
mikeb made some fair points about cars so I will too.
Once upon a time, cars were death-machines. You crashed, you died. Laws were introduced forcing car manufactures to improve safety. We saw crumple zones, headrests, shatterproof glass, seatbelts, airbags, to name but a few. All these save lives.
You've seen the pictures of the crashes. Travelling along at 100mph in a plastic Tupperware box with little to no brakes, no seatbelts, no airbags, no way out... It's insane.
GNER are spending money on a WiFi system. I still say it is disgusting.
I work for RWE, there has been a lot of restructuring recently. Some things that they own don't fit into their overal business plan. They are selling/closing these things as is the norm in these situations.
Informative? Maybe if you gave a reason. We don't know that it was a failure.
suprnova is crying out for bandwidth again and you post a link to it (which was modded up a few too many times too). Nice one. I bet they're really getting fed up with all the slashdottings.
Joe lines up 20 ISOs for download and goes to bed. He is not worried if they take a day or two to download. He thinks nothing of downloading a 1.5Gb movie screener. He has a 24/7 connection and bandwidth to spare.
Trick or treating is starting in August next year too... so I've heard. The children aren't even going to get changed out of their school uniforms...
I can't wait to hear Jingle Bells this year too. November is here, can't be long now. The 13 year old boys in my area have such great singing voices. The outstretched hand they also provide adds to the festive jollies.
Now if one of them was to knock on the door asking if he can wash my car for money then that would be a different story.
54% of personal email users receive 10 or fewer emails on a typical day; 10% handle more than 50.
You lucky lucky people. Guess I'm in the top 1% with 120 a day.
Email is useless for me these days. Even with filtering 95% of the mail it is still useless. I get one email a week from The Old Man and authorisation emails from forums.
I too feel compelled to post about not knowing who Megaman is.
The game name sounds like the sort of game mum and dad would buy for birthdays. They would have heard a children's TV presenter say the word 'mega' and happily parted with cash......but they were poor and I bought my own games. Megaman or some other game with a space-aged title? No real choice.
Very fucked up. I always thought you Yanks wouldn't stand for stuff like that. It all sounds very unfair.
The stuff about unmetered local calls as well... what's that about?
I pay £15 a month for the landline here. All local and national calls in the whole of the UK are free at all times of the day. I pay by the minute to phone mobile networks and premium lines (blocked for an extra £1). This has been the norm for so long.
I suppose I used to pay for incoming calls. Before, I paid £15 a month for line rental and something like 5p per minute for calls. I suppose the line rental paid for the incoming calls but this sounds so 'old fashioned'.
Mobiles are no different these days either. There are plenty of deals to choose from.
Why should your phone company not charge you for incoming calls?
They get more customers; more customers who will probably make expensive calls; customers who are not using a rival's network.
16/06/01: Deviance release cracked Operation Flashpoint (I couldn't find the nfo)
21/06/01: Free Trade FXP realease a CloneCD image. They report no FADE errors after playing for 5 days (30 hours). http://www.nforce.nl/index.php?do=nfo&id=1699
Another great CD protection that only hurts honest users.
Worms 2, Worms Armageddon and Worms World Party use exactly the same engine. The only difference is the front end graphics which are not worth the extra £30 each time. They even carried some of the bugs over with each incarnation.
New publisher equals new front end graphics and new packaging. Tried and tested many years ago.
Google is such a nice company. They feel the need to write big red letters telling me not to click next. I can trust them. There is no need to read the EULA.
You get this in turned based games even more I find. Worms Armageddon and recently GunBound prove this. In these game you normally wait 2-3 minutes in between turns and have nothing else to do but chat.
I would like to see an age bracket or adult only servers/channels but even this would bring problems with the minority of well behaved teenagers.
Putting a reality check on this: Teenage boys are sex-starved boys who question their own sexuality in public (u r gay) and are out to prove their manliness to all their peers (i pnw u). This will never change. Been there and done that so to speak.
Still, being whitty and knowing how not to bite is a great defence from those who are trying to be ph33r3d.
Right, anything you say.

Microsoft Word had AutoSummarize in Word 97, or was it 2000? Anyhow it seems to be absent in Word XP.

Fantastic bit of programming there, Bill.
Not really the same thing Mr. Dave.

In Counterstrike you are illiterate?
In Counterstrike you lose the ability to type properly?
In Counterstrike you are a sad fuck who gets upset when people can't or won't understand the points you are trying to make?

This is what bothers me about our trains:
Potters Bar (2002)
Hatfield (2000)
Ladbroke Grove (1999)
Selby (2001)
There have been others...
And they are talking about WiFi? Disgusting.
I work for RWE, there has been a lot of restructuring recently. Some things that they own don't fit into their overal business plan. They are selling/closing these things as is the norm in these situations.

Being born in September, I can tell you that they didn't read books.
suprnova is crying out for bandwidth again and you post a link to it (which was modded up a few too many times too). Nice one. I bet they're really getting fed up with all the slashdottings.
Joe Teenager is a leech.
Joe lines up 20 ISOs for download and goes to bed. He is not worried if they take a day or two to download. He thinks nothing of downloading a 1.5Gb movie screener. He has a 24/7 connection and bandwidth to spare.
Joe also knows that only real men download ISOs.
Joe is your typical leech.
Do you:
a) Have a PC in the bathroom?
b) Brush your teeth in front of the box?
Just curious.
Do you get USENET in Canada? :p
Seriously, you know how it works online these days.
Trick or treating is starting in August next year too... so I've heard. The children aren't even going to get changed out of their school uniforms...

Very sad, it is. Damn young'uns.

Thanks you dirty spammers.
Funny how Avant Browser blocked a pop-up from that site.

Thanks for listening too.
Try loggin off then back on again. 0.74 stopped working for me last night after a reboot.
Pro 2.0 works great-ish. The skin I use didn't transfer very well (big crash) and some of my alerts were not remembered.

I expect it all balances out in the end.
Why did that get modded up funny? So many of us are using these pocket-money cards - they are very good value.
It's the newest piece in my box too =(
OK. Great protection as the evidence shows...

Already being done with dots on a few frames of the movie.
