Seriously, people in bars sell stolen meat and duty free cigarettes - end of story.

Petty criminals operate in circles of other petty criminals. You aren't part of the circle; you aren't going to be offered anything. Money back guarantees are not monopolised by the retail industry either.

Sorry for the 'me too!' post but this is very true.

The first thing I noticed when I swapped from analogue cable to digital cable was the drop in quality. There are also instances where the signal degrades and a few frames are displayed as black. The crappy set top box software is laughable too - forever crashing, show wrong program details, cutting the audio, mixing the audio from the wrong channel... 'Interactive' is a slow version of a crappy AOL WWW.

You are correct. GNER did not cause the deaths at Hatfield.

mikeb made some fair points about cars so I will too.

Once upon a time, cars were death-machines. You crashed, you died. Laws were introduced forcing car manufactures to improve safety. We saw crumple zones, headrests, shatterproof glass, seatbelts, airbags, to name but a few. All these save lives.

You've seen the pictures of the crashes. Travelling along at 100mph in a plastic Tupperware box with little to no brakes, no seatbelts, no airbags, no way out... It's insane.

GNER are spending money on a WiFi system. I still say it is disgusting.

The stuff about unmetered local calls as well... what's that about?

I pay £15 a month for the landline here. All local and national calls in the whole of the UK are free at all times of the day. I pay by the minute to phone mobile networks and premium lines (blocked for an extra £1). This has been the norm for so long.

I suppose I used to pay for incoming calls. Before, I paid £15 a month for line rental and something like 5p per minute for calls. I suppose the line rental paid for the incoming calls but this sounds so 'old fashioned'.

Mobiles are no different these days either. There are plenty of deals to choose from.

Why should your phone company not charge you for incoming calls?

They get more customers; more customers who will probably make expensive calls; customers who are not using a rival's network.

I expect it all balances out in the end.

Putting a reality check on this: Teenage boys are sex-starved boys who question their own sexuality in public (u r gay) and are out to prove their manliness to all their peers (i pnw u). This will never change. Been there and done that so to speak.
