for all Valve's fancy physics and cunning AI, the eye candy in Doom III is still a cut above.
Valve has a ship date and they don't. I suggest they STFU and let the people decide. As always, the publisher is at it again, hyping a game that won't show up on the radar for many months.
As much as M$ would love to buy i it can't...her is why:
1. It would be a public relations nightmare. 2. The department of justice (maybe not these bastards) and state attorney generals would look at M$'s tactics. 3. You can't stop Linux, you can only hope to contain it..and that is a futile effort. Any infringing code will have to come to light and will be replaced. Then what? Linux is once again clean, and MS is left with lots of pissed of governments and corporate customers.
I'm sorry to say but, my inner greed trumps my inner lazy. Often times greed bitch slaps lazy because lazy doesn't seem to understand we have bills to pay.
Hay, if they clime open source stole some of their IP, then they'll just have to open up their source codes so we can see if they've stolen any GPL'ed code from OSS.
Every week there's a venerability announced. What do you expect people to say? MS is certainly not good at keeping software secure so why shouldn't people complain and foam at the mouth? IMO MS deserves every bit of the criticism it gets.
And for the record, if you don't criticize nothing gets done/fixed.
InterTrust is partly owned by Sony and few other major companies...no way they sell InterTrust to MS. Like you said, Sony and co. can milk MS for all the money it has been milking them for years. Payback is a bitch.
Power lunch baby. Just walk to the stores near your work area and if there aren't any just walk around the building with a co-worker and talk about interesting stuff. Together, you just might come up with the next killer app (doubt it but you never know).
Or you could Join a gym like I have and start biking/walking/lifting weights. Combine these and everything else will fall into place. Those pounds will melt like butter.
Take it from a guy who lost 70lbs in 5 1/2 months, it is initially very hard but once you make it through the first month without quitting, it becomes very easy. I mean, I really feel like shit if I don't exercise...it is almost an addiction now only it isn't bad for you.
Speaking of Office, I just downloaded OpenOffice 1.1 and oh boy I'm I impressed. If you haven't downloaded and seen it in action boy will you be shocked. Makes you wonder where OpenOffice will be a year from now?
French is the dirtiest language ever...ever heard someone curse in French? They have a word for every curse word known to man. Clean language? I think not.
All western languages are derivative of Latin and other languages so are the French going to give credit to the person who coined the word e-mail in their dictionary?
Couriel - we took the English word "e-mail" and inserted it into a language parser and vula, out came out Couriel. Please note that this word was coined by Joe Shmoe.
It is kill the competition by any means necessary. Now even reverse engineering in danger thanks DMCA. All you really have to do is add some kind of "security" encryption mechanism (Lexmark anyone) in your product and anyone can be sued under the DMCA. Congress should be ashamed of itself.

If you want to be anal about it wouldn't "a city like Munich" be more appropriate????
FYI: "Cities like Munich" is grammatically correct because there are other cities that are in the processes of following in Munich's footsteps.
Finally, I can ask my girl friend for a diamond laced motherboard with matching cpu as an anniversary gift. Why a diamond is now truly for everyone.

Open Source Content has a value for two kinds of people. Those who initially create it, and those who want make money on it.
It has no value to entities whose business is in danger.
First you get the money, then you get power, and finally you get the women.
When you have all three elements, you are a made man.
Try buying Black Eyed Peas's "Where is the Love."
So there goes any chance of me using their service.

I want to know when McBride is going to make a visit to China and is their any hope of them imprisoning his ass for trying to defraud the state?
Phreaking doesn't pay.
One pissed of employee can set your whole company on fire, so why do anything criminal when you are gigantic corporation?
FYI: MCI is a Worldcom company so fraud does run in the family.

I believe 2 monkeys can do the same job in half the time.
Dude do the "hi, I'm out of town, can you show me around" routine. If you can't do that then keep doing what you do best, spanking it.

Sharp Browns? What is that?
Can you say Cholesterol through the roof?
