CD players are digital music players too right? I hear ya though. We need to think of a new term that is short and sweet like WiFi is for Wireless Internet or 802.11...:P
Lets say the user encrypted the data. If you reset the user password from another administrator account that data is lost. However, if you got the password for that user and logged in you would be good.
Anyone know of any developer resources for the Zaurus line? The official Sharp DevNet is down... and has been down for a long time. Until they get with it and support their developers I don't see how they are going to get many apps.
Lets not forget his little angel sons who liked to rape and torture. Such nice gentlemen... Use the ol' Iron Maiden on people, etc... They are lucky they died in a gunfight.
If I saw their corpses I don't think spitting on them would be derogatory enough.
My Plextor burner died twice. Once within 3 years, another refurb within a year. My roommates died within 3 years, my sister's died in less than a year brand new. Not buying their stuff anymore.
You are definitely right about that one. There is no doubt that the P3 was ill suited for RDRAM. All I am saying is that perhaps the suit has some merit. Looking forward to seeing the outcome on this case... no doubt it will be many years though.
Hey great idea... Or so I thought. I put mine in the washer and the constant vigorous turning munched the damn curtain up. No big deal it needed to be either tossed or cleaned. So washer beware. Use delicate cycle if you have one! Unfortunately I don't. Next time I'll try some other experiments. Maybe washing with towels or something so the curtain isn't the only thing in the washer... Good idea anyway!
OK, lets entertain the idea for a while. The article is stating that the reason the prices were higher is because the manufacturers illegally limited production. By limiting production the price of any one unit goes up. Its like buying a 6-pack of eggs or a case of eggs. With quantity the price goes down. Maybe this is true, maybe not. The userbase was certainly there. The industry backing was certaintly there. Intel had several chipsets out for P3 supporting the memory (i820 and others), PlayStation 2 uses the memory, etc... Guess we'll see what the court says. Please try and be objective.
We use IRC every day for legitimate work. We're not the only ones. Don't take my word for it though. Check out this link. We progam, chat every day on IRC, and use source control tools to get our work done. This article while accurate in many ways was very unbalanced. That is a mark of poor journalism and is only done to sell newspapers. This is expected of publications like The Enquirer, but should not be the mark of the NYT.
Project Looking Glass... how I abhored that video. I swear they must have said "Project Looking Glas" like 40 times in that 3-minute video. I still wake up in the middle of the night with those words hanging on my ears... I don't think I will ever forget that project name... hehe
Checkout VIA PadLock Hardware Security Suite. Their procs have built in AES encryption as well as a very high bitrate Random Number Generator. This allows their 1GHz procs to do encryption an order of magnitude faster than a 2.4GHz P4. So this software just takes advantage of and promotes their hardware.
Not to mention that MP3 came out *way* before Vorbis. I remember listening to MP3s back in 1996 - 1997 with WinPlay in Windows 95. There have been portable players since about 1998 or so. So there has been a huge head start by the MP3 base. Now, Vorbis has only been around a few years. The integer only code for embedded devices was only released in September 2002. Ogg Vorbis 1.0 was released in July 2002. Ogg Vorbis has come a long way, and it has not even been two years. So don't count mindshare out yet.
It can protect you from the trojan looking for open ports. If the router has no ports forwarded then you are safe... unless there is an exploit on the router...
Yep, I would not have seen this article if it were not for the threatening letter. My opinion of Infinium Labs is that it is a sham. I think the folks at HardOCP did everyone a great service by doing the due dillegence that any investor should do before investing in a company. To be honest I thought the company was a sham before seeing the HardOCP page. Putting a 3GHz processor in a consumer console just isn't going to be profitable at this time because no one is going to pay the amount of money required to purchase the console and Phantom cannot afford to sell at a loss.
Sorry to be an arse, but what an iTroll post. You want either Linux, FreeBSD or OSX on your cell phone / PDA? Seriously, what benefit would an OSX kernel give you on a cell phone. You just mentioned it because it made you sound cool. Any other Slashdot approved OSes? How about BeOS... you forgot to mention that one... oh wait... from what I have heard the Be developers have put alot of their tech into Palm OS 6.
As mentioned on other subthreads Palm OS does have debugging available through cross compilers. Thats how you debug this kinda stuff. Palm OS also has debugging ROMS for almost every make and model in many different languages. Other Palm PDA vendors do the same. In addition, the functions for every version of Palm OS are all documented in a PDF file called Palm OS Companion (there are other PDFs too). Some documentation is lacking and there are gotchas. You would know this if you programmed for Palm...
Anyone know if the wireless camera detectors they have at Radio Shack (still carry?) work? They were a small cigarette ligher sized detector. Didn't seem to me that it would work all that well...
Man, it sure would be nice if these services were available in Ecuador. I went there over the summer and the best connections I could get out of my aunt and uncle's house was about 14.4k. If I could get high speed access in Ecuador then I could telecommute to work in Dallas, TX... that would be to say the least "kick ass".

You can buy an option to insure that a short doesn't eat your lunch. I would have shorted the stock, but the options were sold out.

Yeah, just what we need to see... 5 MB webpages... Make a page that big and no one will see it.

You can also do a CNAME from your Custom DNS to your DynDNS domain. For example:
:)
www.customdns.com -> thog.dyndns.org
The CNAME will always track your dyndns name that way
