so i've read a few posts and whatnot and well it seems there's some debate on why we should go back to the moon.
people ask what resources are on the moon that aren't here or debate that maybe we should spend nasa funding on fixing our own planet first, etc, etc...
people seem to be missing the fact that if we DON'T go back to the moon soon that the moonpie shortage could spiral out of control...
i for one support nasa's decision to return to the moon and resupply earth with moonpie.

are the first two subjects i saw and how redundant at that... i'll always read slashdot for the few worthwhile articles in there and my comments are really at a minimum these days but it's just beyond me how people strive to put microsoft down. dishonesty? how about business. apparently the big boys at microsoft know a lot more then half the poor broke ass slashdot population. aren't geeks supposed to think outside the box? i think microsoft has created many products, maybe not the best, maybe not the worst but in most of the worlds eyes, products that for the most part deliver what people want. the majority. not the hordes of slashdot geeks that need linux so they can feel like they matter in the universe... microsoft might be just another money hungry corporation but they didn't get that way because of nothing. there has to be some give and take... at least in my opinion. let 'em fucking sell out, you'll either go against your anti-micrsoft ways and find a way to get one or you won't buy one. who cares. it's a business strategy, if it's even real cause god knows what you can believe on slashdot. so how about sitting back to see it's effect. you think i'm on an off topic rant then open your eyes and read everyone else's stupid ass comments. at least i have the balls to stick up for what i think and not have to do it anonymously. so here goes the modding down cause i wanted to comment ABOUT the topic...

1. Configuration - it's a hassle and requires too much effort. i'm not lazy, i just don't care.
2. Support - doesn't support as much software as windows and what it does have is usually just a stripped down copy. most important to me, games... I like to play a lot more then quake and tux racer.
3. GUI - granted, many steps have been taken to improve most distributions of linux's GUI but in my opinion it is still far superior to windows. linux is still largely command prompt based and requires too much to learn for simple actions.
4. 2nd rate OS - i don't want a product that comes in second. i buy and support quality and in my opinion quality might only be just that, an opinion. but windows is number one despite what linux users want to believe. i'm not saying windows doesn't have problems but it's perfect for what i want to do and with the number of people using windows being what it is, apparently the majority of society feels the same way. i'm not looking to run an efficient virus free server that's hack proof. i own a few home computers and windows is the best candidate for the job. period.
5. Hordes of pro-linux zealots - turned off by the majority of linux users being narrow minded, one sided nerds, I don't want to be categorized as one or be seen consorting with one.
yeah how long before some stupid little hacker has to hack the new york city subway. what a thing, to inconvenience my morning commute because some stupid prick wants to prove something to the world. maybe if these hackers had any social skills or friends they wouldn't need to resort to doing things like hacking someone ELSE's system. lame. at least add a balance of infinite money to my metrocard to repent your sins...
