I hope he ends up owning Best Buy and the local keystone cops, too. It's two-hundreds that are fake, not twos, Duh!
Counterfeiters don't waste their time with small bills. They make hundreds, fifties and twenties. Maybe some make tens, but it would cost too much to make convincing small bills. That is why ones and fives haven't been redesigned with anti-counterfeiting measures.
Whining about SBC on Slashdot won't change this, but if you live in Texas, you can certainly call your state legislators and ask them not to vote for it, or contact the Governor asking for a veto if it passes.
So, somehow I owe them for the benevolent gifts they have given me? I am a paying customer. They haven't given me a damn thing! Do you think it's good for us consumers when Congress does the bidding of corporations? Imagine if Congress had done IBM's bidding and killed all clone PCs? Even the cheapest one would still cost thousands of dollars. If they had coughed up more bribes, it could have happened. Imagine if Congress had done Intel's bidding and killed off AMD, and any other producers of Intel compatible CPUs. Their price would be astronomically higher, and their speeds much slower. When Congress does the bidding of one corporation against another one, consumers lose. Consider that!
While I can't abide Real, everything they produce is full of spyware, I also detest any form of DRM. It disrespects customers' personal property rights after a sale.
I advocate not buying from companies that use DRM, and have hoped to see some kind of legal action taken against them, but I don't trust Congress in this case. They are essentially the same Congress that passed the DMCA and the Sonny Bono CTEA, two horribly pro-corporate and anti-consumer laws.
This will probably degenerate into who can offer fatter bribes: Apple or Real and Napster.
Indeed! They pay no attention to what we say. The moozlim ayrab terrists will be able to pick out the Americans from a distance, and then kill us at will. The only answer is never to travel overseas.
Here come the Chick tracts! Be prpared to find Dark Dungeons stuck under a wiper blade if you park withing a block of a comic book or game store. The fundies will have a field day with this.
When South Korea does something, North Korea usually does the opposite. Since South Korea is going with Linux, maybe Kin Jung Il will go with Windows for North Korea.
I agree fully. I won't tolerate anyone telling me what I can and can't do with my property after a sale is made. If strings are attached, I will take my money elsewhere. The first time I got a "Copy protected" CD, I stopped buying CDs.
Unless you signed a contract obliging you to give in to your bosses outrageous demands, don't do it. People in hell want ice water, that doesn't mean they are entitled to it. Give him two weeks, and if he gives you further grief, walk.
COnsider that an internship is a job that only gives you college credit, not pay. If they do pay, it's a modest stipend, not a living wage. They are asking too much of you. They want you to agree to let them rob you blind. Do you really need an internship to get your degree? Interns are just gophers. Most of the time, they will have you fetching coffee, and taking things to the mail room. It isn't worth signing your creative ideas over to them.
Copyright is one of the things that falls under the bloodsucking lawyer invented term "intellectual property". Patent, trademark, and trade secrets are others. Duh!
Cloven means split. Kosher animals other than birds and fish, which have different rules must have split hooves, and chew the cud(are herbivores like cattle, sheep , and goats). Pigs have split hooves, but don't chew the cud. That is why pork isn't kosher. Horses and donkeys are herbivores, but don't have split hooves, so they aren't kosher.
That leaves a lot of questions. How much is "a lot." That is not a legal term, it means many things to many people. Does he mean a number of items offered or a dollar value by "a lot"? Considering that Ebay isn't only in Ohio, this is an attempt by one state to regulate interstate commerce. It should be fought as such by people in Ohio who use Ebay.
Back in the day, computer illiterate people would say hewlett-packard-bell because they were confusing two companies. Thanks to Carly, Computer literate people say hewlett-packard-bell because we are comparing two companies.
You seem to be asking about copyright expiring, and music lapsing into the public domain. While 10 years may seem right to any reasonable person, the entertainment cartels are unreasonable, and have made copyright virtually perpetual.
If you want to buy music without paying licensing, get into classical music. It is just about the only music in the public domain, and that will probably never change. Copyright terms will only be extended again next time Steamboat Willie is in danger of lapsing into the public domain as it was in 1998.
Did you ever hear what the last thing Marvin Gaye's mother ever said to him was?
Marvin, would it kill you to talk to your father every once in a while?

The PSP did not sell out in its debut. It was not even close. Shouldn't that headline read first WEAK PSP sales results?
I've got bad news. CNN made a glaring error. Dreamworks and Michael Bay are making a movie about Transvestites. They, too are more than meets the eye.

Time to stop using AIM.

PG-13 is nice, but how about making it NC-17 with lots of nekkid Natalie Portman goodness!

Remember the cartoon, Hammerman? Neither do most people. MC Hammer was a superhero. It didn't last long. Neither will this.
Because Ohio sucks. What do you call people from Ohio? Buckeyes. What is a buckeye? A usesless nut.I think that says it all.

The three letters you need are j-o-b. No piece of paper will replace experience.

If no one owns the moon, how can these guys sell plots of land on it? Former California Governor Jerry Brown owns some.
In case anyone is interested, the Japanese ambassador to the U.N. has issued a statement about why Japan wants a moon base.
