Actually Apple does it all the time. Look at what happened with Audion, Confabulator and Watson. All excellent third party programs that ended up on the scrap heap. Apple is pretty notorious for screwing smaller companies.
So doesn't this make great products like Apple Desktop Remote and Timbuktu illegal now? What about the labbie at your local university who has to controll umpteen comptuters for minimum wages? Obviously this law isn't quite as well thought out as one might hope.
I've mucked around with Motion a little bit and in general it's a great app, but not yet mature. I still think AfterEffects 6.5 is a better buy with many more features.
It will be interesting to see what Adobe does with AfterEffects 7.0 and if they include Tiger's upcoming Core image functionality.
Have you ever been to University? Most classes have a 3-4 lecture once a week and you're usually taking in the neighbornood of 4 - 5 classes at a time. That 16mb won't even come close.
I used to work at a movie theater and I found out that most "rent-a-cops" were actually off duity poliece officers. If you touch him it can be considered assualt on an officer.
This isn't necessarily true. Many times you'll have a contract that stipulates limited uses and the artist will retain the copyright. The only time I actually transfer copyrights is in the case of logos because the client obvously would need to use it for many things and they wouldn't want to pay a royality everytime they print up something new.
Be sure that any contract specifically states that you get the copyright for the work or you may end up on the losing end of a lawsuit.
I just wonder how big the check from the Indian government was. There's no better way to kill any possible IT revival in this country than to tax it to death. Way to go Illinois!
See that's why they make so much money, because you can't do it. If everyone could do it they'd be makeing $5.15 an hour just like kids at McDonalds.
It's like baseball players. Why can they make $25 million a year? Because you can't throw a 98 mile an hour fast ball on the inside corner of the plate with any consistancy.
No you're wrong. I went to RIT for undergrad and graduate. I just got out last December. It was a hellish experience all the way around. Professors who don't give a shit and cancel 40% of your classes, don't know the material before they come into class, the Administration fails to provide the facilities and services they claim to have in their litature and if you complain (even though your complaining may save them from lawsuits from others) they, out of the clus, refuse to sign off on your thesis to the point where it costs you extra money.
So they charge? Big deal. Remember when MS word was free? Then once it got popular MS started intergrating it with other apps they started selling it. Standard business practice really.
Why shouldn't a company get some compensation for the thousands they put out on their products. Sure I would never buy iPhoto or iTunes, but iMovie, iDVD and now GarageBand are great full featured apps for the every day user. Almost all Mac owners can pony up an extra $50 if they wanted to. Also what are your alternatives? Add up the cost of Premier or FinalCut Express, Acid Pro or Sound Track and DVD authoring software and you end up spending a lot more.
I think it's really a great value, I just wish they would roll back the free upgrade offer to Christmas since that's when I bought my PowerBook.
Pretty simple really. One day the Texan may save my ass in a war or by hiring me where as the Indian will most likely do neither. I like to hedge my bets.
Maybe they have a "fan" class of character. You gain experience by eating lots of hotdogs and not slipping on the piss in the bathrooms (yes I am talking about Jacob's Field).
You should copyright this thought or it will end up being a show on Bravo. You know 5 gay geeks (programmer, web designer, Jean Luc-Picard lover, hand held device guy and case modder) will help a hapless nerd to get the female geek his heart desires.
They were hit for price fixing for their activities in the early 90s. There was a settlement last spring where you could get rebates on future purchases. Look for earlier postings on/.
I hate to tell you but the "origional" Star Wars was just a rip off of various westerns done in space. The first 45ish minutes was almost a shot for shot ripp off of John Ford's 1945 classic "The Searchers." Lucas admitted this at the time.

No, DC is still owned by Warner Brothers. There's a new Batman movie in production BTW. Ken Watanabe from Last Samurai will play the Scarecrow.

You don't have to right click. Just hold down on the tool and all the options under that button will show up.
In short RIT fucking sucks ass!
290fps?? You candyass start playing outdoors so you can crank it up to 400fps!
So are you saying it's ok to steal a little or that it's ok to steal as long as it isn't something you care about?
I'm old. As I recall around the mid eighties. Somewheres about 85 or 86. It was their way to get business people to abandon Word Perfect.

A one handed controler for Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball? It makes you wonder what they're using their free hand for.....
Photoshop CS = Photoshop 8
Maya has had the ability to "mold" objects, and paint things with a stylus for a few years now. It's very nice.

Great now if we can just get the USPTO to review the entire pattent process we should be all set.

I've seen it several times and written a disertation on it.
