If the 80 lines that are the same are a part of some module that really isn't required, that's one thing, but if it's required to boot the system, that's a whole other problem! What a horrible thing to happen to such a great free enterprise.
Just get High School kids or prisoners (kinda the same thing)... they will work for free. The High School kids / prisoners would work for free with the promise of being hired at some later date -- but there's nothing that says you have to pay them a lot when you in fact DO hire them, or for how long... it could work!
If someone else's trash becomes my treasure, do they get it back? I don't think so. If I saw Gallileo's telescope in the trash and fished it out, that's one thing. Some unknowing buffoon ditched an international treasure. Sewing patterns? Furniture? Old computers, even? I think not.
The trick would be to provide content partnering with mp3.com, so that any fool with a computer and a guitar could stream off of iTunes and collect a royalty, including ME!
It could be worth a lot for the webcam if some really dedicated viewer is able to piece together the plot, or other spoiling elements. Although you could just wait for the DVD, which will probably have all the thousands of hours of webcam footage included.

like the kind used for movie special effects... i doubt it is injection-molded plastic. As an artist, I've seen stuff like that before, but never on a computer. If you want to make one, look at this suppler for more info.
What happens if you turn the Master gene on for a normal cell, or off in the stem cell? Does that automatically make the cell grow into a baby? That would be wild!
...eventually you pay the price. Free software is always free, but microsoft software is only free when they say it is, and never thereafter. I doubt that they are giving away their tech support, for example. It's like giving away 1,000 free tickets to Disneyland, but you still charge for everything once inside.
How can transparent transistors have anything to do with a transparent monitor? Perhaps if they changed color too, but I believe an LCD could be made transparent simply by pulling all the electronics of to one side, and putting a piece of glass behind it. The glare, etc is the problem, that's why it's in a box. Please correct me if i'm wrong, I'd really like to know if transparent screens and transistors are related, and how.
A while ago, I knew a guy that got caught for piracy/hacking by the FBI... not pretty. I would use this article as a caution to anyone that thinks our government is incapable of action!
if developers hurt a website more than viruses, then surely sites with more developers crash more, and sites with fewer developers crash less. Thus, the site with the most developers working on it has the most problems, and all sites with 1 developer have incredibly few problems. My personal site doesnt have enough complicated stuff on it to really "crash" per se, so obviously less developers means less bugs in that way. So, whose site has the most programmers working on it? Hmmm.... of course, the largest software company!
I would like to know where I can buy the lyrics to, say, an older REM song. Where can you get the lyrics for singers besides like Elton John? Good luck buying that at Tower records... not gonna happen.
People are buying his albums! He's gone platinum! Perhaps people aren't buying my albums because of all the mp3's I distribute, or just MAYBE, I'm not that popular of an artist. Popular artists will sell records AND get downloads, no matter what.
Consumers are not stupid, they all realize that: 1) buying an album without hearing the songs on it is really foolish. 2) most bands these days have one or two really well produced songs ("singles") and then a slew of filler songs on a record. People will buy a good album, as Eminem's or any other platinum artist's sales will show you. Before technology like Napster, I never would have bought many albums that I own, because there was no other way to hear the songs. Napster was music on demand. Granted, letting people have the files probably hurt the incomes of bands whose older material is far better than their newer material (Metallica, etc). Of course people are going to steal the good songs! If bands put out enough good songs on their records, people will buy the record because it's easier than hunting for and downloading all the songs. Technology doesn't beget theft, it just shows the true value of the data it is transmitting.

They run a tight ship, and produce good stuff. It's a cool place to work, but the work can be really hard. IMHO, they spend a lot of time creating workarounds for stuff that's already implemented, but starting from scratch doesn't necessarily guarantee a better product.
If there is ever a comic to show up on the "incorruptibles list", you can expect that within the hour, someone will have seen it + drawn a crude, possibly obscene cartoon to take that comic right back off of the list.

I think that's how SpeedPass works. It's really a faster way to buy things, but seems incredibly unsafe. If someone swipes that thing, you're done!
I hope they still include a Rubik's cube speed contest. I'll never forget seeing someone solve one on TV in about 3 seconds... amazing!
Why would anyone buy the cow when they get the milk for free, or in this case, the whole cow?

So the moon is indeed a projection from the ground, and we blew it up during a botched nuke test?
HA! I thought so!

Construction workers make his one-day rate in a year, and have way worse than minor back pain from playing "Spiderman".
I doubt even full-screen video of every date the Slashdot community has been on would amount to 36 GB. :) ba-da-boom! hey!
Why would they want us to associate Microsoft and a toilet? Things that make you go "hmmm...."

the pr0n collection must be 651 hours, then!
