Legally it would be the same as if there were a gunman on your neighboors lawn without his permission, shooting at your house. You have every right to defend your house. AND with the right circumstances get damages from your neighboor for violation of duty of care or negligence.

Well the PC is a fairly young indusrty. How many Certified Jiffy Lubes were servicing the personal automobile in 1925. Granted the PC industry growth is much faster, pc support shops are still primarily mom and pop (or pop and pimply faced kid) operations. Besides I dont think a cert would mean much. IF I were hiring a tech or a consultant I really wish they could give me "Certified criticiaily thining person" certificate to see. Do you know how many "certified" morons there are out there?

Dont limit it to college only and yeah sure why not. Colleges may not jump at the bit since they have such a wide pool of experience to tap for cheap or free when compared to the private sector, and could easily develop their own suite for their own use, however, non-profits and local organizations looking to put out a respectable print newsletters may be very interested in something such as this. Especially if it helps collaboration among geographically disperate individuals, it could help small (or big who knows?) non-profits get good corrodinated news print out for something very cost effective over conventional project collab software.

Not only did they shut down Dow-Chemical.com, but as a good corporate citizen, they agreed to shut down an entire network (Thing.net) of websites many of which, while unrelated to dow-chemical.com, appear to serve no commercial purpose, being dedicated to the unproductive analysis and critique of society and corporate behaviour. We applaud the courage of Verio in taking this act, as it sends a strong signal to the "artists, activists," and other blatantly non-commercial users of Thing.net. That message can be stated simply: Corporate America will defend its right to Free Speech on the internet rigorously.
So "anylsis of society" should not be protected under the 1st amendment according to Dow? And whats this about "non-commercial users". Apperently Dow chemical feels only those with billions of dollars should be allowed to speak their minds! Please tell me this PISSES YOU OFF!! of course this speech is blatantly non-commercial and unproductive analysis and critique of Dow FSCKED ideas of freedom, and therfore I should be shot and my corpse burned.

as massive and blundering as our gov't is do you really think they could pull it off? I mean the INS sent visa extentions to two of the hijackers post-mortem. Plus this raises serious free speech issues. This is comperable to a 24 hour tap on all phones in the WORLD with no warrant. I doubt the aclu or the EFF will let this get by without a fight. If some candidates ran under a privacy and civil liberties platform, I would think these days, they could get elected, however with education so slashed and backward, the majority of the US is to apathetic or stupid to understand the issues at hand, they wont even listen. As long as they have "Must see TV" and some deep fat fried greasy something to shove down their gullet, they will do/belive whatever you tell them.

We are growning up so we like mature themed games, however, we are growing up. Families and childeren are comming into the picture for a good portion of us, and disposalable income is on the wane. If they keep targeting us primarily and vewing the younger audience as the red headded stepchild, they may target their way right out of the market. Nintendo, however, has consistently aimed for the ~6-teen gamer while other companies keep trying to grow up with the first gen console gamers. The younger audience either has mommies ear for money,or has that first job with money to burn.
