    Yes, it is pathetically easy to remove it. I was at CompUSA on the day it swept the nation, and overheard them telling people it would START at $75 a pop to remove the virus from their system. And there were about 10 people waiting in line. It made me want to start a repair shop.

    A 600 Watt power supply is not constantly consuming 600 Watts. Just like a 280 HP engine is not constantly providing 280 HP. If it did, you would spend a lot of time at the gas station.

    That's an XP 1800+ system, sound, video, LAN, etc included. 256 MB RAM. 30 Gig HDD. FDD. 52x CD-ROM. Keyboard, mouse, etc. 20 programs + Office Suite included.

    Thats a Duron XP... Whatever that means

    IIRC unemployment is not paid by the general tax payers. Its paid by your former employer. At least that is the way state unemployment works. I don't know about the federal "hard times" unemployment.

    Last election, Sam Brownback had very little campaigning to do. IIRC, he won by a landslide, because the people here in Kansas love him.

    That being said, I'm sure he loves campaign money as much as the next guy. But I don't think he needs to buy any votes here.

    I'd also recommend this strategy for buying books. Unless it is something you want to keep (and I very rarely ever use any of my textbooks still), you can cut your book bills in half this way.

    Also, if you are unfortunate enough to be in a class that requires homework on a regular basis, living with someone who has already done it 2 days early is a big bonus. The downside with this type of roomate is that they NEVER leave, and they resent you for having a girlfriend.

    The guys I work with have pictures from some 3rd world country they visited 5-6 years ago with high voltage power lines just running along the ground. I can't remember where for sure. Any curious kid is not safe around there. They also don't protect their equipment in any way like circuit breakers. Just wait till it cooks something, and replace it if they can afford it.

    Even still, my point was that there is no contractual obligation for any TiVo (former) employee to do this, and no purchasing decision should be based on that. No matter who promises it.

    If only AOL expanded their instant messenger service. Sure you can type and they can type back, but what if you could actually hear the person you were chatting with? Maybe this could even be done in "Real Time." We could come up with a device so you could walk around the room and talk at the same time without tricky networking setup. We could take everyone's name and give it a number and put them in a big book so that if you wanted to chat with someone and didn't know their number you could look it up. It would even have their address!

    It really isn't that hard to get a HAM license. If there is a local HAM club in your area they usually perform tests on a regular basis. If you're serious about it, look into it.

    On a side note, when we were doing this stuff in college for a project, they weren't too sure about all the wireless stuff taking up channel space. I'm not sure if they are against it by now or not?

    You were the same kid I killed in "Risk" every time I've played you. All the land you capture you leave ONE person on... then I go through and kill you all in one turn.

    How about we keep our army here in the US protecting and training like they are supposed to. and when we need forces somewhere else, we call up the reserves to perform the duty they were trained to do.

    NO, if you have a base model TV with no other inputs besides RF (Like I do), you have to get an RF modulator from radio shack ($30) or something similar. At least mine would not connect through the VCR because of the macrovision dark-lite-dark-lite behavior.
