Haha! If I'm not mistaken, those events were in the 1940's!! Yeah, we have the exact public policy and war policy as we did back then. Oh yeah, wasn't there something called a world war back then where half of Europe and Asia Pacific were taken hostage? Times have changed. And to you below this about the cluster bombs: War sucks and war is dirty but the U.S. does try to hit non-civilian locations whenever possible. If you think we are the aggressors you're sadly mistaken. WE DIDN'T SHOOT FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bullshit. killing innocent civilians is terrorism. end of story. shooting at military installations is a different story. blowing up a bus full of unarmed civilians on their way to work is terrorism. asshole.....
One more thing... Saddam Hussein has provocted the world to act upon him. He has provided funds to terroists around the world and provided them with the tools to build terrorist weapons. That right there is more than enough to justify dropping bombs on his chemical factories and other military operations. Can you see the light now?
You are missing a HUGE point. The U.S. specifically targets military buildings and installations. We do not target civilian locations. THAT is the difference. And THAT is why we need to defeat global terrorism.
I really don't know too much about patents and was wondering if somebody could explain this to me. If I am an inventor, what incentive do I have to work day and night if someone else will just use it and profit once my product is released. I always thought patents (again I don't know much about them) were designed to give the inventor a specific amount of time where he/she/company would be rewarded for their efforts and once that expired everyone could join? Is this not the case?
A couple of months ago I acquired a 700 Mhz iBook with 256 Mb of RAM. It was my first Mac and I was very excited. OS X has a clean interface and some nice features, however the speed was very slow compared to my 1.8 Ghz Dell laptop. It seems like Mac enthusiasts use the "Mhz isn't everything" slogan way too often. I've done primitive tests encoding mp3's, using Photoshop 7, and zipping files and my Dell blows the Mac out of the water. Also, it takes three times longer for the Mac to start up. I like the looks of the Mac and I really like the CDRW/DVD combo, but for raw performance it doesn't come close. I think making an Intel based Mac would be a great idea and would definitely help me "switch".
"What do you think are the chances Microsoft employees are contributing buggy patches to key open source projects"
How nice. Or should I say how pathetic? You have absolutely zero evidence they do that sort of thing but you throw shit like that out there just to stir things up. And I realize that you don't actually accuse them of doing it, but just by mentioning it you have basically done the same.
The companies who make games for the XBox care. They don't really like it when people are able to play illegal copies of their games, and if MS can change a little here and a little there to temporarily fix the problem that's great. There is alot of hard work and money put into game development and all MS is trying to do is protect the game producers. Everyone knows the new versions will get hacked, but they feel like they have to do something to protect the single biggest reason why they even make the console.
war monger bush? hello!!!! did we attack first or did somebody elso blow up three of our buildings and kill thousands of civilians?!?! oh and about saddam.... that asshole uses poison gas on his own people and invades his goddamn neighbors. not to mention the fact that he pays terrorists and will definitely support more terrorist activity in the future. oh man, when that happens i hope it is your ass who gets killed.
"the C*O's in America would start herding over to Linux"
They would herd over real fast until one of them tried to run their desktop using Linux and couldn't figure out how to do anything. Major companies will start switching their non-IT departments over to Linux one day, but not anytime soon.
Microsoft ending support on Office 97 is nothing new in the business world. Car companies regularly end their support for different models. After a while it is not cost effective for them to produce spare parts for these models. Also, look around everywhere in the technology industry. Companies are constantly discontinuing support. I have a Denon receiver who's fm tuner went out and I'm S.O.L. b/c they don't make spare parts anymore. All this complaining about their discontinued support for Office 97 is nonsense.
this is just another example of why communism is so bad. if the chinese people could elect their officials perhaps they would have open markets and a better school system. anyway, that's my 2 cents
"But we have not succeeded in raising even a fraction of the required funds."
The closing of this site is analogous to why open source projects will always fall short of its competition (read $ not quality). There simply is not enough revenue. Until people realize there is no money in open source this trend will continue.
I didn't address that because it is completely irrelevant to the fact that you shouldn't call people names while using Anonymous Coward. Are you that small of a man that you can't call someone a name without hiding behind a bogus nickname? Look at you; even in your reply you're hiding. I would have so much fun kicking your pansy ass.
The japanese company that is offering this laptop is creating a way for the end user to maximize current technology. It's up to Intel/AMD to come up with ways to reduce power consumption at 2.5 Ghz......
your point is taken though :-)
i think this is a better comparison

"But as a capitalist, I say, let the best product win!" Holy cow!! Someone actually believes in capitalism around here. Sweet!

Just be happy Cynthia McKinney is gone. That bitch has caused more headaches and misery in my district than you can imagine.

that's what it looks like when i beat off in front of my computer for two hours at internet pr0n.......... :)
The ACLU is a bunch of ultra left wing liberals (read communists). Blah......
What part of ANALOGOUS do you fucking idiots not understand?? It was a web site and not an open source project? No fucking shit Sherlocks.

My crappy case mod and half dead dremel all of the sudden seem so inadequate....
The problem is that model sucks. Linux distros will never fully compete without higher revenue.
