  1. Linux! on Is Linux or Windows Easier To Install? · · Score: 0, Redundant

Linux wins hand down, regardless of distro (unles your completly new and confused), I say this mainly because first you have to install windows 95, then windows 98, then windows 98 SE, then locate all or most of your drivers and patch that beast up, whereas linux for the most part is kept up to date with its distros and does all this for you. And getting you windoze box on the net won't be easy either as the default browser is IE 3, now how in the hell are you gunna upgrade that POS when even microsoft doesn't support IE 3 for its website, much less other sites where you need the drivers! ....so mainly because of versions, drivers, and patches, windoze is far more complex and a pain.....

  3. POV on Is Today's IT an Undervalued Asset? · · Score: 1

I think the answer will come from your Point Of View. For example, if your a manger needing to cut costs, obviosly IT is going to be, without a doubt, slashed simply because once an infrustructure is built, as long as you have maintainance you'll be safe for a quite a while. But if you're say, the sys admin, you far notice the real need for extra spending.....not just from insight of the technology, but from the experience of people bitching 24/7 that their PC is too slow or of any latency that might occur, if especially if your overloaded and dont have enough help......

  4. Its not just the transponder on California Tracks Everyone Using Toll Transponders · · Score: 1

I use the toll roads to commute to work and there have been times I removed the transponder completly from my car and took the toll road normally (on accident!) then when I looked at my bill they still charged me, but they seperated the charges into a different subsection, such that there was a section for transponder charges and charges via the License Plate number, of which you must register with the toll road people before you can get the trasponder......

You know, I dont think the toll road operators are this stupid, I'm sure document the descrepencies and show some sort of statisitical report to authorities,...I say this because I too take the toll roads to commute to work and I see FAR more cops, speed traps, and people getting busted on the toll roads than I ever do on regular highways

....we've all heard that idea over and over and.... but here is my problem with that setup, you end up forcing an artist to lean towards only writing one hit wonders and thereby runing the integrity of the whole concept of art,....for example, lets say you want to go to the LACMA and only wanted to see the Picasos, should you only pay a fraction of the the entrance fee? alot of my favorite bands, I find their b-sides to compel me far more than the singles, and it was be a damn shame if artists stopped creating the extra songs simply because they dont sell within the whole package........

Ok maybe I've been in a cave for a while, but when I was a mere child I *loved* my legos and enjoyed constructing various projects, but nowadays it seems that most lego products come in these specialized kits (ie Star Wars, Dinosaurs, Pirate stuff, etc), and if you visit the Lego webstore you can't even get a simple kit of legos, I'm talking nothing but plain old blocks and basic parts...and the only way to get these are buy buying them individually,....and same goes with stores, on a whim I visited Toys R Us and same deal, no kit with JUST basic blocks.......whats going on?!
