Let's assume a theoretical universe where it is absolutely, positively, categorically impossible to pirate XP. Not "difficult". Impossible.
Let us further assume that, just like in this universe, XP has 90%+ market share.
No way windows would have 90%+ market share if not gor the EasyPirate(TM) feature.
Well the Autorun feature is a leftover from before the blaster worm, when MS policy regarding novice user usability VS security hole was clear cut towards the former. I expected a fix in SP2 though.
You just have to say the magic words. It's very important to use your best Edward G. Robinson tone, of course: "He was trespassing, see. Yeah. And I was fearing for my safety, see. And the safety of my loved ones, see. Yeah, see."
So it's something like "It's coming right for us"
I trust you didn't run any other java apps in the meantime. Java.exe is shared amongst all applications, so any cpu time will include the other apps as well.
I also trust you're not measuring azureus.exe 's cpu time, it's just a launcher. (That's obvius from the mem usage you are reporting though).
If you RTFA, then you'll find that this isn't a case of "Modded xboxes = bad" it's "Modded xbox + large amounts of commercial copyright violation = bad". Which I don't think most people would have a problem with.
This is exactly why it's bad. Because these guys did actually rip game publishers off this is an ideal case for precidence to be established in the DMCA. It would be far easier to cry "DMCA is bad" if modding was their only crime. Because these guys actually are at fault is is easyer to summarily decide "Modded xbox + large amounts of commercial copyright violation = bad" and from that decide that "therefore Modded xbox=bad". I hold no sympathy for them as well, burn them at the steak, but for the right reason! Specifying why they are being convicted is crucial here.
I honnestly don't get intrusive ads.. I mean I get them in my browser and IRL all the time, I just don't understand how advertisers think. Theory of advertisment states that you want to associate your produst with happy thoughts and good feelings. The frustration felt when an ad is blasting out of the speakers in a fast food store or when you try to click a link and a flash layer slides under your mouse is associated with the product and stored in memory until I try to decide weather to buy the product. Then, just as I am about to pick it up or click "add to cart", that same annoying tune is going to play in my head, or I will see the damn pop-up in front of me almost as vividly as the first time, sliding under the link... I make it a point not to buy the product every time I'm annoyed. So I block annoying ads, and if someone asks me why I blocked theirs, I will happily answer "I may want to buy your product someday".
As RMS points out those concepts may be simple, however just because something is simple does not mean it is obvious or non-novel.
While that may be true, it doesn't mean they're not obvious. Let me take the progress bar.
When I was 13 and playing around with GW basic I tried my first, and initially empty, for loop. Dissatisfied with the lack of feedback I added the printing of the character 'A' in each loop. V 5.0 was complete with a delay loop! Haven't you ever wondered why all progress bars are left-to-right? I'm not boasting here, it's just that obvious.
It isn't just using the proper tool for the job, switching between the two can kill your productivity faster than anything.
Amen brother! If the alien mentioned abducts me and my desk he's going to count hands needed: "2 for the keyboard + 1 for the mouse, this guy is missing his 3rd hand" he will deduce (he already knows I'm missing my third leg from car pedals). This fundamental flaw's effect is grately lessened by having multiple ways to do things. In the efford to make things simpler for new users keyboard commands are sometimes neglected, especially in new finctions that didn't evolve from older interfaces who relied more heavily on the keyboard. How can one unmount a usb drive in windows using the keyboard for example? Or why can't I select files based on a mask in windows explorer, while I could in Norton Commander all those years ago? What TFA objects to is the decline of the keyboard's role to "a device for entering text".
I actually did rename "My Pictures" to just "pictures", "My recieved files" to "recieved files" and the same with "My Music" because of a windows feature: "type-to-find"! Some brilliant engineer in microsoft (or someware else in case they copied it off someware) who came up with typing the first letters of a file or directory to select it must have been very pissed off at all the "My"s making his feature harder to use. Then all the other pieces of software think it's a good idea and we have "My Skype pictures" and "My Virtual Machines". But hopefully the insanity stops here.
"We didn't listen, We didn't listen!!!"
To add to the parent, NOT having enjoyable things pumping addictive chemicals into your brain IS a psychological condition (depression).
From the link: Avoid: Stun guns.
All men are instinctively afraid to commit for a reason.

Well they did have viruses in DOS
The answer of course should be "Harrrrrr!!"

Link plz?
In the apple store: "Goodmorning, I wish to buy an Apple label"
I can imagine these guys bragging to their coworkers..
"...and we caught a fish THIS big!!"

What?!? no backup of the old BIOS image?
He's a mad man I tell you... a mad man!!

while the slick file pirates just sit and laugh.
and what's more, when they laugh they go "Haar har haarrr".
Or to comply with /. stereotypes:
In Soviet Russia, google sues YOU.
We won't sue until we clear that trademark business with Amazon

...shouldn't they fine Microsoft? Just a thought.
I was pleasently surprised to see a link to Googlebar on the Google Toolbar download page.

Isn't that like that bathroom window where you see things pixelized through it?
