From TFFAQ: The game's starting point is set some time following the latest movie (i.e. Nemesis). However, there will be missions with storylines and characters from other parts of the Star Trek franchise.

If you had a choice of time settings it would probably be good. Limiting it to TNG era and introducing time travel leads me to believe that they should name it BitchFest- 'cause that's all they're going to get.

What were they thinking when they decided to use a non-descriptive term?

Even though this requires a tinfoil hat, I wonder... Could it simply be a passive-agressive response to pressure they don't want to endure any longer? Basically giving the T-Mobile types what they want but at the same time hamstringing the implementation such that it dissappears from relevance shortly after introduction. Or perhaps make the TLD so obtuse that the support for it wans and it never gets introduced.

Granted it requires an uncommon level of shredness, but still...

  10. The core failing of remixing... on William Gibson on The Age of The Remix · · Score: 3, Insightful

The cor problem with remixing is that it takes something already created to make something new and different. Once everyone is doing it, then the core pieces used to create the remix will gradually dissappear. Someone, somewhere has to be making original content- otherwise there is nothing with which to cut and paste. As more and more of the arts become cut and paste, the more degenerative they will become. I think remixing is indicative of less creativety, not more.

Not trolling, but genuinely curious as to what requires 100% up time? When I think along the lines of hospitals, they still have a mainly human workforce, banks close, and the military's systems would have, I would think, extensive redundancy built in in case of battle damage.
