    Satan is described in the Hebrew sciptures. In Genesis - he's a serpent who plays a role in the fall of man. In Job - he goes before God to accuse Job. In Ezekiel 28 - he is described as a fallen angel. in Zechariah 3 - he is described as an accuser.

    Him and what Navy? It's hell to invade a fortified coastline. It's the reason that Germany never invaded UK, and the reason that it took the USA until 1944 to invade France, and that China has never invaded Taiwan. Add the fact that the USSR had no navy and especially no Pacific fleet.

    you could probably try to go haggle with the wal-mart manager but he'll probably say "no, if you don't want to pay what's on the sticker

    It is possible to negotiate with the wal-mart manager in certain cases - particularly on items with new packaging, or seasonal items at the end of the season, or on clearance/red tag marked items. This is stuff they want to get rid of to clear their shelves, and they are more willing to move on price.

    Another good place to negotiate is the furniture store - particularly if you can walk in and pay cash. They typically price their items with some of their costs to offer financing. If you pay cash up front they will come down.

    Almost everyone either runs a little business on the side or at least knows someone who does. I sell a few items a year on ebay, why not not buy the item from Dell for my ebay 'small business'?

    Lucas couldn't let Spielberg direct because Spielburg is a member of the Directors Guild and Lucas is not. Lucas does not use guild members in his movies (and if he does they risk being kicked out of the guild). This all goes back to the disagreement that occured when he refused to run opening credits before ESB.

    There is a simple solution to this problem. Send Jedi to intervene in the trade dispute between the Lucas and the Guild.

    The personal computer owes much of its development to the 'cold war mentality', and the development of tecnologies to fight the cold war. With the lauch of the Soviet Sputnik in 1957, the American government started to spend large amounts of cash to promote space flight, mathematics, computing, and other types of scientific advancements. Stanford University and Douglas Engelbart were recipients of some of these government grants.

    yah, but GW didn't make money from RAM or ties to RAM producing families.

    Are you sure about that? Texas Instruments is a big defense contractor, and designed a number of the laser guided bombs used in Iraq and Afganistan. And Texas Instruments was a major DRAM company a few years back before selling to Micron, and Micron was accused of price fixing. ;)

    For my education, can you provide specific cases where judges made decisions based on foreign laws?

    Lawrence v. Texas - homosexual sodomy, Justices cited two decisions by the European Court of Human Rights.

    Grutter v. Bollinger, affirmative action programs- Justices cited an international treaty.

    Atkins v. Virginia, execution of the mentally retarded, Justices cited an Amicus Curiae brief from the European Union.

    If I'm not mistaken, all of these state constitutions can be reworked with a 50%+1 share of the vote....Its like the fact that we could have the 1st amendment repealed with 66% of the vote and 75% of the states in agreement. Things like that should be set in stone.

    Interestingly enough, these state amendments would have met your suggested threshold in most cases. The closest margin in any state was Oregon (where the amendment won by 14%, and Bush lost by 4%). Here are the vote by state on Gay Marriage amendments - all of which passed:

    I can tell you from personal experience that you won't be protected. Here's a little note I got from the MPAA about a year ago after trying to download an episode of Enterprise from bittorrent(BTW..the load didn't complete).

    We have received information that, at the above noted date and time, the IP address [removed] was used to offer or to materially contribute to the offering of downloadable or streaming copies of copyrighted motion pictures. The title(s) offered included: ENTERPRISE (TV) Season 2 - 3

    "Materially contribute" is how they will nail you.

    The real thinkers will know, if we had started years ago, we would have had a chance.

    Speculation here, but likely what ever condition we have on earth after an asteroid impact would still be better than the current conditions on the moon or on mars. If we can design a self sustaining mars colony, we can probably design a self sustaining post apocalype earth society as well.

    Personally, I use i2hub to get legal files (such as Linux ISO images or the TV show that aired last night that I missed, though this is controversial) because the download speed is so fast.

    I can attest to the enforcement of the distributing of TV shows. I got the following lovely notice about a year ago from our friends at the RIAA- after getting a Star Trek Enterprise episode off of bittorrent:

    We have received information that, at the above noted date and time, the IP address [removed] was used to offer or to materially contribute to the offering of downloadable or streaming copies of copyrighted motion pictures. The title(s) offered included: ENTERPRISE (TV) Season 2 - 3

    C.S. Lewis, (who was an Anglican) addressed this very concept in his space trilogy. In it, man (and Earth) is corrupted, and the rest of the solar system is not. In the stories, men attempt to leave earth and colonize other planets in order to spread the 'manifest destiney' of Adam's race. Lewis portrays these attempts as misguided and resulting in great evil.

    How about DNA? It's contains all genetic information that determines how cells are formed and how they behave. It's what allows cells to copy the essence of themselves from one generation to the next, and allows them to continue on the platform from where the last generation left off. If our cells weren't packing around little mini protein 'storage devices', not a whole lot would be happening.
