    I am pretty sure that SCO is thinking about investing in this small company... Microsoft will probably just try to purchase this company... Open Source will show prior art to this company... All employess will be replaced by lawers at this company... All of the lawsuits will fail this company... Lawers will be the only ones to profit from this company... The lawers find a way to ruin every profession,or at least get a cut, much like how coders should be held accountable to all the security flaws of the code they write... yeah i would quite my job and claim patents the day that happens.

    There is a useful aspect of the blog search on the fact that it is time relevant. I mean googles index has no idea of time it is just the best believe result for your key words. Blog searches taking into account time offer much different results search president bush on goolge it will be the same things for months and months, search on blog search engines you get currently relevant results about the president in the last few days, such as bush talking about new orleans currently. I find this more valuable then to find a blog site or a non blog, I want timeless information and timely information about the same thing. Search machine learning come up with large sources and ideas on google search it on blog searches and read developers of machine learning techniques and how they are applying it and working with it right NOW.     If i had a shirt with a video screen i would place my art on it and have creative videos and stuff i have made play there it would be a simple way to get a small audience to see some of the stuff your doing.

    a PDA is not to expensive you can find them for 100 bucks. Your not going to get away from a computer... if you having a keyboard plugged into any type of device that is a computer. You can use the pda for nothing but typing if you want to be away from the computer. Also install nothing else on it and you will be unlikely to use it for anything but typing. It would offer you the best solution of typing editting (if you want) and portability if you plug a keyboard into it. This is part of what PDA where made to do. Your asking for a solution to a problem that doesn't involve the correct solution. (I want to paint a wall red, using only non red paint... it can be done, but there is no reason to make it more complicated than nessary by requiring mixing paints and such....)

    Things like this have been looked at before but not enougha nd not recently enough to keep all of the new technology in mind. I think it is insane that we are still using computers almost the same as we were when the first GUI OS came out. IT is time computers reacted to use better.

    Yeah Seriously older quakes run fine on a 700 mhz machine with 32 mb graphics card... I never tried quake 3 but quake 2 was fine. Also it can still run great games like starcraft and warcraft 3 even runs pretty good on it.. I would definately say starcraft is perfect for your situation. turd burglar

    I mean with how many computers our agencies have and how long it takes to maintain that many computers there is now way they are secure. Half if not more of the computers are probably maintained by someone that has no clue what their doing. I work at a CS research lab and we have so many machines and people working on projects we learn a old machine no one is using anymore was comprimised and there is really nothing that can be done since it was no ones machine. I guess we need to create an automated defense firewall that will protect all company computers from the TCP level... if there is a vulnrability in exisitance the firewall blocks the TCP sockets that the exploit uses until each machines IP is verified to be patched against the exploit. my friend dom is a turd burglar

    At my job i feel good becuase i know i am contributing to a large project that is seriously understaffed but still moving forward and always making deadlines. Also since i know others jobs rely on these projects staying afloat i feel good as being a part that continually makes the project successfull. That and it is a project with really good intentions.

    I am a CS major at University of colorado and i work in the L3D labs as a research assistant i have been programming on a couple different projects now there. Using all sorts of different languages and they are searching for both grad students and undergrads to work with them in paid positions. Also i worked at CU for spacegrant a aerospace undergrad project that has students from many different schools colaborate and put actual satellites in orbit. I was writting ground control software there. Both were paid and great learning experiences.

    hey this is the kind of thing that needs to be done more. Show that people want it there is a use and that copyrights are becoming terrible. Copyright costs are going up so it will be even harder and more expensive for a citizen to copyright and idea soon only corporations will be able to afford it. And maybe univesities which are also accostum to stealing copyrights.

    The new protection laws are screwing everything up. I can't watch a DVD on my projector if i plug in through composite or S-video cables becasue copy right protection things i am copying the movie. So i have to actually plug my monitor cable into the project and then it is ok because i couldn't be copying it then. That ruins the entire idea of dual monitor support with graphics cards that can output to TVs, or projectors. DAMN copyright laws protecting me from doing completely legal acts. If a law restricts something legal while trying to protect against something that is illegal the law itself should be illegal. Confusing enough..... yep!

    A compact flash card on a zarous could hold about 2 full movies with good compression. I have a 320 mb card and could easily fit 2 movies. Hence not just for trailers who woould watch trailers. GRRRRRRRR i dislike you evil man.

    I have read about fly wheels for a few years now. They are amazingly interesting. I really hope they are used more places. The use of flywheels in this type of situationw ill help push the technology further. Besides uses for trains and mobile towers where else have flywheels already been put to use? I heard NASA would be using some? Does anyone beleive flywheels will eventually be the solution to the terrible battery storage? Could flywheels be used in electric hybrid cars instead of 1000 lbs of batteries? Long live the flywheel and i hope this technology finds its place in every day uses.

    Honestly i have never been into hacking or had reason to be. But if the legislation passes that companies can DOS or hack my machine legally. I say that anyone that knows how should DOS and take down MPA and sites like it every day until the legislation is revoked. Them making it legal for them to use these techniques means I am justified in using the same techniques to defend myself from a corporation Stoping the BANDWIDTH I PAYED FOR.

    This is a good idea. I know it is similar to mp3.com but honestly this is the kind of battle that really needs to be fought. It is alot harder to say something like this breaks copyright when the original game is a legal copy.
