--I was once next to a man on a plane who took an 8 hour flight to work every monday and flew back every friday because his was a specialized field and the company wanted him to work somewhere far from home.--
Exactly, what kind of field would this be? Build UFO's in the desert or something?
When you live in a small town where it ain't gonna happen. I think what you said would help a lot as well as electricity. You could build and extremely dependable vehicle that has a whole lot less part to go wrong.
I wonder haw many cell phone batteries and electronics it would take to build one?
--97% of all electronic failure is the result of low or inconsitent power. Surge protectors only stop massive oversurges (typically over 160 volts).--
Really, you mean the capacitors in those power supplies in that expensive equipment are really that cheap? If so, then I suggest buying cheap equipment. The power supply is supposed to filter the AC power. I think they (monster cable) are making a lot of money there too.
Lightning can take out anything. I think it would figure in at more than 3%, references please?
--This theory is complete and utter bunk. Nobody, and I really mean nobody, seriously invested in the search for petroleum reserves subscribes to it. The Bakken is a traditional petroleum reservoir where the hydrocarbons are created by biological matter subject to intense heat and pressure.--
That leaves the question of Titan. I wonder how those hydrocarbons on Saturn's moon formed?
Alltel hasn't crippled my RAZR V3a file transfer. You just get a copy of Motorola Phone Tools and your good. You can even do it without that. No more buying ring tones or wallpaper.
but.... now when I get a phone call from an unknown source it just shows the number and not the name too. You gotta pay extra for that now. Ditto for web access which doesn't even work off of half of the towers around here if you have it.
You can use your cell phone for internet access at cheaper rate than a card or dongle but I don't what would happen if you got caught?
That does seem to be the logical reason for the SR-71's retirement. To build a plane that flies higher, faster, etc. basically puts the spy vehicle close to being in orbit as well. It's then more likely that "the powers that be" would just build more spy satellites to blanket an area instead of building some exotic plane to do the job. I think that would make the most political (no one to get captured) and monetary sense (I bet exotic spy planes cost more than satellites.). There might be a possible exception to this in the form of a ROV (no pilot to be used for propoganda purposes).
--In the work place, most people might enter a fake installation code for example, but won't go as far as to apply a crack. If the software requires you to apply a crack to use it, then I think most people at work will get their company to buy it. If it just installs anyway with just a small nag screen or something, then most people won't buy it.--
I agree some corps will buy one and install many if you don't have something. I have heard of a hardware lock that doubles as usb memory device so that you can take your work home and just have one license.
--I'd be interested to see what kind of weapon they're planning to pop out the bottom of this thing @ Mach 6. Doesn't seem like a terribly bright idea...--
I think it might work like an ejection system similar to the one that ejects a pilot from an SR-71 at Mach 2. As a matter of fact there could multiple things like this on a single plane dropping nukes on every city the thing decides to pass over. This idea goes back to the 1950's.

You could use coax like the cable company does and boost it wit something like this:
distribution amp

I think they make these for ethernet too.
http://www.blackbox.com/Catalog/Detail.aspx?cid=425,1423,1424&mid=4965
Someone here probably knows where to get thes things cheaper too, but with coax maybe they will let you put it on the telephone pole.
They'll quit if the Astronauts don't come back from that mission which is likely to happen more as we explore further out.

Yeah

What!
lack of cash IS what causes stress.
What about the notorious X10 company.

Isn't our government involved in a war(s) in the middle east which drives up speculation on the said commodity of oil.

ADA - the military uses it.
I thought 2001 came out in 1968?

He-3 may be there on the moon. I think it might be valuable?

Asteroids have hit the moon therefore it's hard to say what else is on the moon. No one has drilled/mined very deep.

In Chicago you can.

He claims he had the first one though.

DOD is not a company technically.
Nope.
There is this guy that owns the internet. He also has a bunker many feet below Area51 where he uses stolen alien technology to get rich.
The real problem with the M16 which cause it to fail is the direct impingement system that allow hot gases into the bolt

Contrast that to H&k's 416. I looks and shoots just like the M16 with more reliability.
