Brightstar has a huge presence in Central/South America. This is likely where the handset is manufactured and probably why it's so expensive to ship. They're providing free shipping to US and probably making up for it with Euro purchases.
No use presenting facts. People who think 60,000 is lower middle class either have no concept of money and its value or deep down believe that most of America is an unlivable wasteland of degenerates.
I was thinking the same thing. A Wii with Opera on it would make an excellent secure internet device, along with many other benefits for the elderly with some carefully selected games.
As far as I understand it, ROMS can only provide rights to IP that was released in Russia. The RIAA chose to enter the Russian market and abide by their laws, so they already agreed to deal with ROMS and take the compensation ROMS offers. It's the RIAA's fault if they are not happy with the deal.

A Talk With Opera CEO

You are probably not aware that after MS changed one of their sites to specifically break Opera, Opera released a "version" that turned that site into Swedish Chef talk. The GP was making reference to that. Probably could have made his point with only a few paragraphs, but it is humorous to those with the requisite background knowledge to understand the joke.
Unless the order of magnitude uses a base factor less than ten. For instance, 3. Two orders of magnitude with a factor of 3 is very close to an order of magnitude with a factor of 10.
Unfortunately, I've been having similar problems (though not as severe) with Opera for Linux since version 9. Looks like 9.5 will fix alot of that, though.
Change your default ringtone on your cellphone to silent. If it doesn't support it directly, get a silent mp3 file or whatever your phone supports. Then change the ringtone for your whitelist numbers to something audible.
Or - and this one's radical, I know - he could sell the closed Software!!!
It's his software, he should make money off of it as he wants. Do you have evidence that shows that opening up the software on an embedded device would make more moeny for the software developer? Because I'm pretty sure that's his main concern. Not whether random people can get his software for free and tinker with it.
Plans are to release on the "System Software" OS and particular stripped versions of "Windows 2000". Unfortunately, the game imposes some strict hardware requirements so don't hold your breath thinking that you'll be able to play it on your current system.
(In other words, this isn't planned as a PC game, it's PS3 and XBox 360)
I don't know about you but I can't afford $72,000 for the "sake of learning" (average cost of a bachelor's in the U.S.). The internet is free and has much more available. If I am going to drop that kind of money I need to be purchasing something more than lectures amongst 300 other students.
Screw the fact that he's black. His name is Barack Obama. The American people will not vote for someone named Barack Obama. It's that simple. He stands no real chance of winning.
When a law applies to a situation only when people of a certain age are involved, the law should apply differently to offenders of different ages, yes.
How about if I can't stand using iTunes library? I don't want to add files to a library before listening to them on my portable digital music player. Libraries may be useful for incompetent people who can't organize their own files, but for me it's a huge hassle. If I want to find Michael Jackson songs, I can go to the Michael Jackson directory. If I want to play a particular song, I can find it alot quicker by a standard file search than through some backwards library management software that is designed so that idiots can use it.
Better than average? It's crap. I want to drag my files from Nautilus or Explorer to the iPod drive and go. That's it. Any additional steps are a pain in the ass.
So the $600 price tag is just so people can sport their iBling? That's absurd. Without an application platform, the device is no better than any free phone you can get through T Mobile or Sprint.
Sega CD was an add-on (which pretty much can be read as "failure"). CDi was quite expensive and had almost no games. 3D0 was exorbinately expensive and never had a chance at its price point. Neo Geo suffered from the flipside of 3D0's problem - the games were very high priced.
Those can be thrown out immediately.
Saturn - for anyone who followed the gaming industry - was a non-starter. Sega had built up way too many platforms at the time and nobody was going to buy a Saturn until Sega proved it was sticking with it.
Turbo Duo was the only competition with actual potential, but NEC had done a pretty good job of giving Turbo a bad name before it became controlled by Turbo Technologies. Not to mention, it was really just aging hardware (TurboGrafx-16) with one of the aforementioned failed add-ons (TurboGrafx-CD).
No, Sony really entered into the market with no real competition (besides oversaturation). People were just waiting to see what would turn out alright, and Sony took the cake by being good enough with a decent company name that hadn't been tarnished.

To avoid using "one", one should utilize alternating gender-based pronouns (which is usually the case, but men - predominantly - will only notice those pronouns that are feminine and not those that are masculine). The alternation frequency should be regular, but ultimately depends upon textual context.
One could alternate gender every paragraph (excepting those cases where a pronoun is in reference to a predetermined gender in extended scenarios). Other times it may be appropriate to alternate whenever an individual is introduced (e.g., a manual that rarely uses personifications). Another method is to switch off every chapter.
There are numerous methodologies, the absolute worst being masculine pronouns throughout.

This is why I spend my "down-time" scripting away my job to generate more down-time.
99% WASP? That's ridiculous. There's no way there are 1% Atheists on Slashdot...
how are the gas pumps doing through all this?
The ones that are not in areas under fire are fine
is there a gas shortage?
doesn't appear to be one; could be because so few people are driving
are they jacking up the prices on the highways?
you mean just over the past couple of days? no, but they're chronically jacked up anyway

Or on XBox Live. They just started putting episodes of Heroes up there last week. Seems NBC already found a new channel to replace iTunes...
