"second superpower" pushes ahead of even "al-jazeera" (which recently passed "sex") in today's Google Zeitgeist...but only for 7 hours, starting around 7:34 PM.
I just wanted to point out that you can also get the audio feed for every game in the nation for only $20/season. This isn't as big a deal for local games, but when you're following 22 fantasy players or your home team is on the road for a week, it's money fairly well spent.
The NFL still offers these feeds for free..but I guess $20 isn't too bad for more than a thousand games. And the audio feeds go silent for commercials (since radio commericals are local feeds)...so you only hear the game, which is also a bonus.
Seriously though, I've looked at their demo games and they expand to 1024x768 really nicely....
Which gives me pause and concern about MLB's ability to keep up with bandwidth demands once the season is in full swing and they have big games like Red Sox vs. Yankees (which will be their first game online...I guess they want to stress test the system early).
I've seen big guy's get slashdotted, like a 386 serving across a 56K modem, when they try and do something huge like streaming video service. Just look at about every MMORPG in its first week. I hope MLB knows what it's getting into because I see alot of people taking advantage of the price and availability (I think most games will also be archived for later viewing as well).
Want to watch your home team? Go buy a ticket, you bum. Honestly, if the game is sold out, there's no blackout. If there are still tickets available, go buy one if you want to see the home game. If you want to see your team at an away game...ta-da! Welcome to MLB.TV! I mean, really, it's not that bad...and for those of us who are also sports geeks (a rare and deadly combination), then this is a great way to keep up on our fantasy baseball players when they're all over the majors.

My, what your friend or loved one will think of you...
but Mystro TV prevents consumers from making, storing or sharing copies
If it comes in a cable through the wall, someone can descramble, store, compress, and distribute it. What in the world would keep me from attaching my TiVo to this thing (which may just be my cable box with Mystro-enabling chips) and TiVo-ing channel 3?
Besides, this thing will never fly, because it would require every TV show to give licensing agreements to AOL/Time Warner. Then, A/TW will have to have a central server that talks to every cable provider in the US. Uh huh...good thing I can TiVo past this on CNN tonight.
By the time the game ships, you'll never want to play it again.
Not a problem. If you work for 3D Realms and you just got off of 12 straight hours of testing Duke Nukem Forever...then you can go home and take it all out on someone in Quake3Arena.
I use linux. I have more skills than the average computer user, but I'm certainly not an elite GNOME hacker when it comes to getting what I want out of my desktop. I do almost everything from a terminal, except for a handful of apps that I launch from the toolbar (very similar to the way I use the quicklaunch bar in Win2K). But I avoid the "Start Menu" menu-inside-of-menu time lag as much as possible, prefering to open a new terminal and even start something backgrounded.
I loaded RH8 on my new home computer instead of RH7.3 which I was using at work.
I want my edge-flipping back. I want to go from view 1 to view 3 without going through view 2 and I want to click a box in the configuration tool to do this and not recode my interface. This was there for me in RH7.3. It is gone now. That is not user-friendly. When I upgrade a piece of software, I should get all the functionality of before, less of the bugs, and maybe some better things that weren't previously available.
This is not what happened in GNOME. I'm thinking about finding out what the latest KDE has to offer. Until then, I've sorta avoided booting into Linux for now.
It's really hurting my "work-at-home" situation...but I'm managing.
This is an article on LawMeme whose final analysis is that we have no better system to handle the privacy of an email. In as such, we should all go back about our business but abide by a tighter social contract which treats e-mail a bit more private than Laurie's treatment by her friends (or friends of friends)...And yet, this same article (and the persuing slashdot article) has now been linked and circulated to even more people than had read (or even heard about it) in the first place!
Ahhh, beautiful irony. We must ruin Laurie's privacy even further to hopefully contain privacy better in the future...or to use their analogy:
Let's feed the lion an elephant and hope that he's not hungry enough to snack on any of the rest of us.

You're welcome. :)
Macromedia is my preffered system for all things graphical...well, okay, everything but photo manipulation...

You do know that just because they aren't selling them anymore does not mean that the one on your desk is going to disappear...right?
Fat and lazy people will be pushing up the petals sooner than healty, active people anyways...
Oh...you meant pedals.
No wonder they keep having auctions and pledge drives...with the hardware it would take to handle this kind of special effects.
PS - Before you moderate...know that it's a joke.
My bad on the blackouts...but you know, I have yet to hear of a Red Sox home game that's not televised the entire season...
In the meantime, instead of DC, I think the Expos are going to Puerto Rico if this year's attendance looks good.

I'll just stick to the audio for now...thanks.

Oh, come on, moderators...
A) This is really funny.
B) This is slashback for christ's sake.
C) I might have goofed up the URL...try this one instead.

Honest, it's really funny.
Dougie as General Disarray: "Simpsons did it!"
In case you hadn't seen this one before:

What's funnier (scarier?) than your post is that I recognized the "evil site" by its IP...

Oh, right...corporate heads don't go to jail, they just find new jobs.

Notches in belts are for gunslingers.
This is more like another notch in the bedpost...because we all just got a little more fvcked.
Speaking of cords...wouldn't a digital guitar have only one cord?
...and you just have to strum it...really fast.
