  1. I don't think this will happen on OS X on x86? · · Score: 1

Apple would have to basically say it runs the same on mac hardware as pc hardware. Maybe not because they want to push their arch but I don't see how porting it then slamming it could work out for them. Now there are other problems. For one are they going to write all the device drivers for pc hardware that has no counterpart on the mac? They would have told hardware developers by now I would think. And all the software vendors that are scrambling to port to cocoa are working hard to make sure they have altivec enhanced code. Wouldn't they need to know so they can make their software work nicely on an X86 version of OS X? I think this idea is just a dream. If it happens I will shave my head. :)

Someone should invent tiny pellet sized bombs that can level an entire building and walk into the patent office and sprinkle a few around... then walk out and KABOOM. No more rediculousness. The patent office doesn't protect patents. They hold us back from making great use of technology. And they are controlled by money. If you have tons of money you can have any patent you want. Just slightly "improve" on a patent pending and they will give you the patent instead... and while the original person was going to really use the invention... you just shelf it since it could be a threat to your money making practices. I really hate the patent idea. If they are going to do this then have an intelligent peer review process that doesn't award patents to people trying to patent the obvious but does give patents for free to those with brilliant ideas. STOP THE INSANITY. :) Ok thanks.

My Verizon CDMA phone sounds so much like my landline phone that people ask me if I am still at home when I call them. Of course one could be better than the other in different areas. All I know is my verizon phone works most places I go. Here in Mobile, AL. New Orleans, LA. Houston, TX. Pensacola, FL. I will have to say my dual mode phone will not work in Atlanta, Memphis or Indianapolis. Though if I upgraded to a trimode phone it probably would work. My friend who uses Digiph GSM sounds all broken up if she goes traveling in any of these places. My phone still sounds clear though it occassionally echos in say houston 10% of the time. The majority of people at the places I go to support computers use the default page of whatever they have without even thinking about it. People who use Netscape use Netcenter. People who use IE go to MSN.com by default. And people that use AOL go to aol by default. a great majority of them will never change that. I feel the webpage should be blank by default and then be very easy to set any page you are on as your home page. It is unfair to be any other way. Just my opinion.
