Think about it.... This thing can heat things ultra fast, with just a little sunlight. Why not use this to super heat water and create steam, in a more effecient, and far less radioactive way, than our nuclear reactors do?

If it were not for the mod chip and the opportunities it presents, I would have NEVER boughten an XBOX... That still doesn't legitimize my actions, but its... lets see here... besides buying MS Flight Simulator 2000, the one that still had the twin towers in it (yes, call me a freak, but once I found they were going to take the towers out becuase you could fly in to them just like the hijackers, I had to have it) and no I have never really played the game for more than 5 minutes.... call me whatever, I would never hurt a fly.p? uhh... anyways, I don't think besides that particular game, i've ever purchaced a MS product besides my XBOX. So in the end, they did get money from me that they wouldn't have if it were not for the mod chip.
I do not have enough money to shell out 50 dollars everytime a decent game comes out, nor 6 dollars to rent a game for a week.
Therefore, a mod chip in my XBOX, I have (along with a little Yoda on the brain)

Also, another great thing my mod chip does is let me play those old arcade games, (which aren't anywhere anymore, and IMHO should be considered public domain) Super Nintendo, Genesis, ect games that I HAVE SPENT 50 dollars or so a pop in the past on. Just becuase I don't have a working NES doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to play those games that I still have the original Carts for. (and maybe a couple that I just "rented";) )
If you can't understand what I mean by that, then you have no biz in the computer world as it is. Take your PC... smash it to bits, and forget everythign you know and learn how to throw a garbage bag into a dumpster.
I rarely ask for my money back if I see something really horrid in the theatre... I did with daredevil without hesitation and almost with spiderman - did people really like that movie?

The bottom line is that you really can't put much trust in benchmarks. Well... Thats not exactly true, but think - of those games and apps that you always see the same people run over and over again, how many of those do you use on a daily basis? Personally, i've read so many reviews that I don't even have to think about what a pixel shader is anymore, so it probably will come as no suprize that I skip through the mumbo jumbo they tell you about the card and go straight to the benchies. And its always the same ones.
Thats all well and good, and I guess it gives you a VERY generic view at how those particular things work, but how about real life performance? How about a screenshot in the HL mod Natural Selection when there are 15 turrets firing at bile bombing aliens with the show_fps set to 1? Can we get something like that? I guess that would consitute in there with fill rate, and before you tell me thats an arcane game. Let me direct you to the little X on the top right of your browser. I don't care.
You can get a very good idea about the speed of a card, but you have no idea what the card will have trouble with until you load up your copy of Star Wars : Pod Racer just to be greeted by a big white screen when the race starts. Thats one thing I really miss about 3dfx. Thier cards worked. Always. Well, at least they did at the time.
that always seems to hang up my computer trying to debug things for me? I dunno... he's never really solved any problem for me except for the one where i'm thinking about pressing the reset button.

I use win2k and stay away from XP so I don't have any idea if they have done something like that with it or not, so forgive my ignorance.
