Video games can totally be used to predict events. Just the other day I played Battlefield 1942 and it turns out the Allies would win in a war against the Axis. Who would have predicted that?
The commercial skip works great on sitcoms that are on the main network stations. That's about it. On TechTV and G4 it doesn't skip past the long commericals (video professor, that air filter thing). On dramas like 24, Buffy or Alias it skips too far, requiring me to rewind several minutes. I probably use commercial skip on about 1/4th of all my recorded shows.
My video game review site has 7950 games. It's not really an informational site, just user reviews. However, MobyGames doesn't even have Atari 8-bit, Fairfield Channel F or Vectrex.
A rich girl on vacation with her family finds herself in an arcade subjected to a new form of "dancing" that regular people don't understand. She falls in love with a guy that got good by playing the game on pads in his parents basement. She gets in a big fight with her family when they realize she is a geek.
"4 stars." - Kenton Times
"A coming of age film that is fun for the whole family" - Findlay Courier
"This is the best movie based on the video game Dance Dance Revolution we have seen this year" - Columbus Dispatch
Trigun is quickly becoming one of my favorite cartoons. I like the character Vash because he is silly a lot of the time but he is also an excellent marksman and has this amazing ability to get out of impossible situations. You can see it weeknights on Cartoon Network.
I also saw Spirited Away a few weeks ago and it is definately worth a rental now that it is on DVD.
1) flat-out-reject anything that's already patented.
2) reject anything with prior art
3) Have a QUALIFIED examiner spend some time looking it over.
4) Have a certain public review periond (6 months?) that anyone can register complaints
5) Review complaints (possible reject)
6) Have another, different qualified examiner check it out for an extended period of time.
7) Reject anything that is just an old invention with a clock added
I hope the ReplayTV stays around because it is as addictive as crack. I tried watching TV at a friends house and it was like going through withdrawl. I couldn't commercial skip and I was stuck watching whatever happened to be on at the time.
I felt like a caveman stuck watching the same old rerun of "Fire".
I highly recommend Flyrt. I've been using it since last November and I can't imagine living without it. My favorite feature is the sidebar for Mozilla. I also like how it keeps track of the last folder you were using so when I open the sidebar at home I see the last set of links I was using at work and vice versa. It's also nice that when I add a bookmark I can choose to email it to a friend. Overall, it's well worth the $6.
The Frightners, starring Michael J Fox and directed by Peter Jackson. A horror movie that's got plenty of funny moments and pretty good special effects.
that other programs will eventually figure out a way to open these new Office documents? I do like OpenOffice and don't have any plans to buy an MSOffice product for home.
I get maybe 2-3 junk mail messages a day to my real account and those are to the guy that previously had my domain name. I simply use a fake email to fill out forms on websites. If a valid email is required I have a hotmail account used only for that purpose.
Spam is not the unstoppable killing machine sent from the future to destroy mankinds' last hope of survival that you think it is.
I still can't figure out why Tivo is more popular than ReplayTV. I bought my Replay last weekend and it has soooo many more features than Tivo. My personal favorites are the ability to send shows to other Replay owners and the ability to program it online.
Let me get this straight, there is a person... that exists... who is using a Mac? I can see why this is such an important news item! If you'll excuse me I must go turn on my TV to see if my regularly scheduled program is being interupted as we speak!
I don't think it's neccessarily true that poor people HAVE to pay more than other people, I think some of them just use these services to live beyond their means. In a rural town I used to live you'll see run down shacks, but they'll always have that satallite dish.
My favorite episode of all time is the one where Bart is writing love letters to his teacher. It has the Yo-Yo kings, a swear jar, Homer's only love letter to Marge, and his lame attempt of building a dog house. The country music episode should have also been mentioned.
THE WORST EPISODE OF ALL TIME has to be the clip show where they only show music numbers from past shows. The filler in between clips was just horrible!
I'm pretty sure COSI takes donations for old computer stuff and lets kids take them apart so they can see how they work. If you don't know what COSI is its like that simpsons episode where they go to the Knowledgeum. If you don't know what simpsons is, what are you doing on slashdot?

Oh sure, this gets mentioned on Slashdot, but my petition for a sequel to the Atari 2600 game E.T. gets no recognition.
E.T. 2: Judgement Day
He's back, and this time they'll all pay.

Everquest AND Plantside? Damn, if only I didn't have a social life...
Finally I can play Virtua On with a controller that has two analog sticks!

It's just not right without a mouse!
Who played Doom I or II with a mouse?

Out of all the nonexistant wearable computers I've ever seen, this is by far the coolest.

How to be funny on Slashdot:
1.Take any article that is even remotely related to Microsoft.
2. Mention BSOD.
3. Profit??

Actually you don't get random cards when you buy a pack. You get exactly what game you want to buy.
It's nothing like baseball cards. Except that they are cards, and they'll probably have baseball eventually.
