what a great idea... As most web developers have I'm sure, I grew up using Photoshop and find its GUI very straight forward and easy to use. Then I discovered Linux and was excited to use its open source tools. GIMP seemed powerful to me but the GUI made little sense to me and why would I bother when I could work with graphics easily and quickly in Photoshopa already. This will give me a new reason to revisit GIMP!
Great stuff. Music often can be a wonderful enhancement, just think of how much it adds to movies. I won't miss MIDI sounding gameplay music at all. There are reasons why I usually play games with the music level at zero.
Phew. I sure hope they actually TEST the controllers extensively before they release them. I found the standard XBox controller to be bulky, awkward and painful to use for extensive gameplay.
As technology continues to evolve so will handhelds. I find it remarkable how much functionality they cram into them (and cellphones). No wonder consoles have to have such off the chart specs. Onwards and upwards.
I'm surprised more educational institutes (universities, colleges etc.) aren't adopting open source solutions... Even dollar saved can be put back into their main purpose which is education. Then maybe classrooms could have new equipment to use instead of 5-10 year old equipment. Hmm...
I wonder what terrorist hope to accomplish when they commit their attacks. Regardless what they do their demands won't be met. Ever. Perhaps they will kill some innocent people and get a little press for their 'cause' but it will be forgotten. Their victims however, will remain victims. Why is this the only medium for them to express their hatred? What has made them feel the need to lash out with such careless disregard for people they have never met and never will? Another sad footnote in history.
Hmm. I've been using various RedHat flavours for years (FC3 now). From early on I prefered KDE to Gnome anyway. I found KDE more straightforward to use and felt it had a better GUI.
