The thing that is killing these enviromentally friendly cars is cheap gas. I would like to get one but I find it hard to break even in comparision with a regular car. $20,000 is alot of money to spend on a new car regardless and through property tax, insurance rates in there you are paying alot more than a regular car.

I would like to see the price of gas go up to $1.00 gallon so these type of vehicles would get serious mass production consideration.

The problem I had with most of the new Star Trek characters is that they are still very shallow. They all tended to be stiff like-butlers and rarely every show true emotion. It is like everyone is a vulcan want-to-be. I cannot even count the times that crew members sit(in TNG) and talk like civilized people about some emotional dilemma that is confronting them, but regardless of which two or three characters they use they are all speaking in the same manner, same tone with very little heart.

That is usually the exception to the rule, especially when dealing with IT industry. To many people assume that because in IT you can do that, other professions are the same way.

Do you think anyone is going to hire you if you have never taking an accounting course, that just some experience running a lemonade stand is going to count? How about management, experience counts alot but a degree is often needed to get your foot in the door in the first place, noone is going to consider you for management just because, they need something to back their decision up.

Face it, IT is alot like manual labor, it is just putting your nose to the grindstone and just work. Someone willing to put in the time can make something of themselves, especially a smart person, but they are not going to turn into the CEO of a big company, you need that degree

No back on the subject at hand, if you really are looking to get a degree, ask yourself why, you have been to school twice and what ever reasons you had for going to school then were not enough to keep you there. You really need to understand why your going to school instead of is it possible. If you have a good enough reason, you can make it work

I wonder what it would take for a company to be able survive by putting out DVD's.

I work the 2nd shift and there is no way I am home when anything good would come on. I could get a Tivo but it all ends up being a pain in the a**. Look at the costs and things I would have to deal with to record my favorite shows.

    • Get Cable, $50 month
    • Buy a Tivo, $250?
    • Buy the TV Guide Service, $20 month
    • Program my Tivo to get a few shows
    • Have to sit with the remote to skip commercials
    • Have a limited time to actually enjoy the shows before I have to hope it comes on again
    • So lets see $70 month, and the hassle of coordinating my life to find the time to watch these shows and hope they are in the right order. I also still have to deal with commercials even if I am sitting there skipping over them. I just go and buy the DVD. Now you at least have something tangible instead of just the privilege of watching whatever they want to show you.

If you are willing to look around or wait you can find them at a price range of $12 to 25 dollars, it depends on how much you want the movie. Series can be cheaper because you can get a 50 episode for $100 in a package. Considering people will spend $840 a year, and not to mention extra time and effort to coordinate when you would watch these shows, from cable, DVDs are a good deal.

This goes back to the question, what would it take for companies to make their series and just put them out on DVD, it is worth it to me to not have to deal with TV, and Networks would have less say in editing the product, so maybe some of it might get better instead of Edited for TV and be fit in to only 45 minutes crap.

If you take a look at the map it looks pretty neat, but like most things that are visual appealling, they tend to lack functionality. The only reason to do this map was neato factor and to get their name in the press. I think it will work because management tends to be impressed by style more often than substance.
