Yes, I am saying it has in fact gotten worse. Vanilla 2.4 and 2.6 kernels won't even boot on a lot of those systems, and I believe 2.4 when it did worked only supported UP configurations (smp would hang it on boot.)
As far as linux distros go, I try and keep it below 128 megs of memory usage, and runnable on Sub 500 mhz systems with minimal lag, which is becoming excessively hard to pull off without simply running off the console.
As someone who has dinked with ARM, SPARC32 and x86 on linux I can tell you that modern kernels don't work especially well on the first two without patches (and in fact SPARC32 I haven't had bootable on anything newer than 2.2.19 with debian a few years back. ARM, in my case a zaurus can run 2.4.19-embedix but newer kernels have issues (I still haven't been able to compile, much less run a home-built kernel for it, only the openzaurus ones, which have issues.)
Honestly if you can deal with the issues, my best luck has been with netbsd/freebsd for alternate OSes. I ran NetBSD 3.0 off a scsi cdrom drive on three different sparc32 boxes (ss/5 ss/20 and ss/IPX) and it worked on all three. The latest debian boot cd only worked on one of the SS5's and neither the IPX nor the ss/20.
I still run the majority of my x86 systems on linux, but given the apparent decline in quality and ballooning base system requirements I'm seriously considering the pain of migrating to other alternate OSes instead.
It'll always return 42 because one is a variable, not a #define, hence its value isn't set in relation to compile-time activities (such as which value to place in result.)

Anyhow just accept that nerd/geek/hacker/phreak have all become mainstream culture words, and it is time for all the former nerds/geeks to run off and find new words to describe them.

It may just be me, but the examples provided by wikipedia are for patents only, are they not?
On that note, maybe they could add in an adult version of Commander Keen, and maybe Jill of the Jungle, and make it an AO rated game for all us kids who played those games back in the heyday of Shareware, only adult, with like PORN, and X rated violence!:P
I still have the CD sitting in a CD tower at home, as a matter of fact... my big gripe with the game was the 45 degree turns angles it required, maKing it very hard to smoothly corner... it was however a fun way to cruise your Sim-Neighborhoods:)

Phase 2: Warm up your soldering iron (should you lack one or appropriate skills, go buy one, and find some broken eletronic devices to practice on... or get some cheap ones, break them, then fix them.) Phase 3: Figure out what's wrong, solder it if you can, source parts if you can't. Phase 4: Get back aplayin:)
I have a 100 dollar clarion deck that has RCA ins on the back, if you get a minijack to rca cable and plug it in it'll work just fine (I used this years ago to hook up my computer to my stereo system, pretty simple assuming you can find a premade cable... usually at a musical equipment store.)
