How can people make that determination if they've never even heard them anyway?
Huh? That's why P2P is there in the first place.
Yes, but how do you know to download it if you've never heard of them? Are you suggesting I should download every song on P2P to find the ones I like? I agree that P2P has put a lot more power into the hands of people, but it still leaves a lot of chaff to shift through. That used to be the job of DJ's. They'd listen to all the new music and play the stuff they liked. People would tune into DJ's they shared the same personal tastes with. Now the DJ's have no control over what they play. They're handed a playlist and that's it. Some marketing suit is deciding what we should like.
Stop yapping elitist claptrap and pretending like you know more than someone else who doesn't like your music. This isn't some moral mission to establish cultural hierarchies of "good" and "bad" music. It's a (fairly) simple mission to get the music out there in the first place.
I didn't relize it was elitist to say I don't like the music on the radio, here is some music that I think is better and should be on the radio. It would be elitist to somehow think I was superior for liking certain music, and I never said that.
It goes far beyond local punk bands though. There are great bands with clever songwriting and creative songcrafting. They have large followings and still they recieve absolutely no radio play. Radiohead, Wilco, Aimee Mann, Suzanne Vega, The Jayhawks are all better than 99% of the music being made right now. Everyone I've played them for has become fans, yet you'll never hear them on a clear channel or Infinity station. Why? I really don't think it's because their music is unappealing. How can people make that determination if they've never even heard them anyway? I think it's because those stations are not being paid to play them. Luckily here in Philly we have great independent stations like 88.5 that do play them. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't hear much new music that I actually like.
How about you not get suckered in and you buy the product because it's superior not because the marketing gods have your brain by the balls.
How about I just enjoy the game for what it is. I don't even own an xbox, but I'm having fun with this anyway. You need to lighten up. The game has been going on for about 3 months now and not once have they even mentioned halo or halo 2 and how you should go out and buy it. So what's your beef, or more acurately and to quote the marketing gods, "Where's the Beef?"
I have Verizon and a LG VX6000 phone. While the data transfer does use your minutes, if you only use it during your unlimited night and weekends then it's unlimited. It is included free in your standard plan, and I get about 15K download rates.
I like how you can click on any of the search terms on the right and it will automatically advance you to the next instance of that word on the page. It's really usful for long pages where only a small part may be relevant to you. You can also have each search term highlighted a different color making it easy to pick them out on a page.
This is good news for anyone that gets sued by the RIAA. How can they prove that you actually downloaded their IP, if there are a bunch of fake files with the same length and size as the real thing? Anyone who gets sued can just say that the file they downloaded contained white noise so no copyright infringement took place.
I don't know why they just don't remove the ability to spontaniously spawn new windows. Always open a link in the same window. If I want to open it in another I can right click on the hyperlink and choose 'Open in New Window'. Pop up problems solved.
Once the information is out, it's inpossible to get the genie back in the bottle. That's why this fight needs to be about collecting the data in the first place.
i will certainly opt out of any site that requires me to be face-fucked by advertisers before accessing their content.
It says that the ads play after you leave the site. You and I can figure this stuff out, but most users will asume it's the site they just clicked on that is causing this. The site that is really hosting this crap probably won't even receive that many complaints.
There will soon be better options, and hopefully moves like HP licensing Apple iTunes technology, as well as other things, will make the online movies/music environment better than ever.
The battery appears to be the same size.

They're both 3.7 V, but the ipod has twice the mAH at 1200. Not sure if that justifies a $100 cost compared to a $10 one.
I don't think the form would have been compromised that much by having a screw on battery cover on the back.
I'm sorry, what I ment to say was, "Before they went and altered the constitution so they could get their greedy little paws all over your money?". Thank you for pointing out my mistake.
PS: You'd think that after the third or fourth "fucking" it would lose it's impact, but it doesn't. It just builds and builds. Bravo, your highscool debate team must be so proud.
Irrelevant. My point was that you pay less in taxes now than you did before, so obviously congress isn't completely obsessed with taxing you as people here think. You pay less in total taxes--even with all those non-income taxes--than you did before.
Before when?
Before Bush Sr. and Clinton raised them? Before FDR's new deal?
Before the Federal Government unconstitutionally started taxing it's citizens' income in the first place?
I've seen this sort of view constantly on slashdot, and I don't understand it. Congress has spent the past few years cutting taxes. You pay less now than you did before. Personally I think it's an idiotic thing to do, the US tax burden isn't that high, but that's what congress has been doing. Why do you think otherwise, in the face of actual proof? Do you people not read the papers or something?
That's because you're just looking at the obvious taxes. The one's on your paycheck and the one's printed out on your receipts. There are many hidden taxes that are not as easy to see. The sin taxes on alcohol, cigarettes, and gambling. Taxes on gasoline. Taxes that are levied against businesses that they kindly pass along to you in the price of their goods and services or pay you a lower wage because of. All these taxes may not be broken down in a nice, easily digestible manner, but they all add up to be about half of your income going to pay taxes in one form or another.
I wonder if this could end up hurting iTunes. Little Jimmy asks his Dad for an iTunes subscription for christmas, and Dad says no. He read in the paper that downloading music off the internet was illegal. This could really put a damper on legitimate downloading services.

From your discription it seems like you haven't checked the site out for a while. For puzzles you should head over here around noon eastern time on friday.

At least no camel foot.
If all you want is free music, can't you just use Kazza? Why bother scamming iTunes?
If he can be in both Denver and California at the same time.
I use both of those, plus SpywareBlaster which keeps most of the stuff from being installed in the first place.

Since mail servers can't vote, I'd guess it's the human.
