    Actually, if you look at the Miller v US decision regarding the NFA of '34, the SCOTUS at the time ruled that his short barrel shot gun and machine gun were not protected by the 2nd Amendment because they were not weapons as typically used by the military (at that time).

    Now, of course that is completely different but due to the ending of new NFA entries for select fire stuff in '86 prices on full auto are artificially *very* high ... never mind the $200 tax stamp required to enjoy your constitutionally guaranteed rights...

    My "gun license" is kept under glass in the national archives... You must be either non-USian or from one of those states that restrict your rights (California, New York, etc)

    Seeding Linux ISOs - even for distributions I don't use - on release day and the day after is the only thing I use bittorrent for. It is also the best way I can contribute back to the community as a non-coder.

    Seamonkey is just what you get when a firefox and a thunderbird get freaky on a friday night...

    Big deal about FF for me is that working in education, most learning management systems have historically supported IE and FF ... just recently Angel started supporting Chrome and Safari (but only on desktops) ... so FF availability for non-Windows platforms is pretty big in my book...

    During the last hurricane induced power outage (a few months before katrina) we had no power for 8 days. Had a 3 year old... imagine her whining "daddy, i want to watch finding nemo"... cute huh? Now imagine daddy sighing and saying "i want you to watch finding nemo too sweetie....". Depressing huh?

    No generators to be had. A few weeks later, second long term power outage due to another 'cane. Daddy went and got a 400w inverter from a car audio place (still no generators to be found no matter the money). Was able to run a few fans, a few lights and the tvt/dvd player...

    Which is funny, because people have been convicted of "operating a vehicle while under the influence" while riding a horse... with no reins. Horses know where home is, just gotta get up on it and give it its head, it heads home. A semi-sentient autonomous "vehicle" and still get DUI charges...

    With ticket prices way up (at least from the last time I paid to see a movie in a theater) of course even a bomb is going to have high $ sales.

    What percentage of seats available were sold? I think that would be a better metric than gross dollars worth of tickets sold...

    I teach a 3 credit class as an adjunct. Just under 3 hrs per week in the class, plus a couple grading, answering emails, etc. Pay is just over $2000 per semester, works out to about $25 per hour I actually work on it.

    Not bad for someone with an AS degree and deep knowledge of a particular subject (Linux admin)

    Multiple conflicts throughout history have shown what local gurrila fighter can do against a "proper military" - now imagine what one of the best armed civilian populations could do... The 2nd Amendment isn't about deer, duck, or dove hunting - it is about fighting back against enemies both foriegn and domestic.

    So he was an engineer with a few hobbies... some of which were expressive (the painting), some of which were an extension of engineering (the anatomy).

    Grandma was involved with management for the '32 olympics in LA as a translator/office manager type. She had LOTS of film footage from her movie camera, they ended up buying a lot of it from her for the '84 olympics.

    Nope, there are weight limits, and it must be in appropriate packaging (original box, etc) and must be declared. I think the ammo and any firearm must be in separate luggage, and I know they both have to be locked and NOT with a TSA lock - you get to use a *real* lock on your stuff!
