I sent an email to Showtime via their website explaining that, at present, I do not subscribe to Showtime, even though it is available from my cable service. I said that if if Showtime picked up Farscape, I would subscribe immediately. I got a personal response saying my message would be forwarded and that they really value public input. So... WRITE THOSE LETTERS!!!!
See, MisterFancypants, the catagory of persons you've put yourself in? Just read some of seeksoft's posts to see what a flamebait magnet he is! It's all hate-spewing nasty stuff. After reading some of your posts, MisterFancypants, it seems you are a some kind of programmer, and probably knows a lot about it. You would probably fit into the catagory of 'fucking dweeb' that seeksoft has instructed to 'take your hands off the computer for a minute.'
Also, you're both a couple of homophobes. How pathetic.
I remember taking a screenshot involved a rather complex process. I believe one had to hit shift-printscreen, open that crappy paint program, paste the image in, then save it out, only having the option to use the awful bitmap (.bmp) format. WHAT A PAIN!
uh... plastic is plastic. It doesn't matter what color it is or how translucent it is. Anything you see with bright translucent plastic, as a new design, was most likely dull, opaque plastic previously.
You may not like the design sense but calling it 'cheap crap' is silly. If you want a stapler made out of fine hardwoods and gilt, then go buy one!
I also don't think anyone is designing their product 'blindly' or doing something to make their product 'cool' It's done because marketing research shows that the current consumer wants a brightly colored appliance over a dull colored appliance.
I think the 'timeless' was used more to describe the digital nature, rather than the medium it's stored on. Your DVD will degrade, but you can back it up before that happens. You can copy a DVD onto a new DVD (or possibly some new format in the future) without losing any quality. Your VHS will also degrade, but you can't back it up with no loss of signal. So, you need to hurry and back up your analog media BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!!
You are so right!
Personally I prefer bland, opaque designs. Bright colors can make one feel cheerful and happy, which is so annoying. I would much rather be reminded of the non-descript conformity we all strive for.
I'm sorry to say, but most of them I read are NOT the correct form of Haiku. I believe it was posted earlier, but buried in a response, that the correct Haiku form is 5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables. The only one I can remember reading that is correct is Hydrogen.
Even worse, most of them are nonsense freeform poetry that would certainly NOT help me remember the periodic table.

Interesting, I feel bad for those certain people who are starving to death.
I have way more than 150GB of drive space. I just don't have it on one drive. Between my five computers and the external drives I have, I have way more than 150GB. Your MP3's don't have to be all on the same drive.
I think there needs to be a distinction made between Production, Manufacturing, and Distribution. I believe in the music industry, these are distinct costs. Manufacturing is mostly a standard cost for everyone that is the same across the board. Distribution (includes Marketing) has many levels and the cost scales based on the Distribution Channels. (sending a copy to the local radio station is much cheaper than buying ads on MTV) Production is highly subjective and can range from nothing to millions. It can include many costs, including paid musicians, musical instruments, studio time, post production, blank tape, etc... (common practice: "hey, let's go play guitar on the yacht in the Bahamas and write it off as 'production costs'")
What's the lowest cost to produce an album and have it sound good? I don't know, and I'm sure everyone won't agree.

I have a Firewire drive mounted on my old beige G3 (with a new PCI firewire card in it) in the basement. Ethernet cable running up through the floor in the living room. My old lime iMac (rev C w/ broken CD drive) mounts the shared firewire drive on boot, then runs iTunes. iMac audio out into the TAPE input of my reciever and violá! over 12000 tracks (presently) at my fingertips.
Include a keyspan remote control and I never even have to touch the iMac. Although it's great to be able to look up tvguide.com right there in the living room. Also, it can run SETI in the background while it plays music!
And my lime green iMac looks great in the corner with all the plants around it!!!
It's on UPN Wednesday night at 8:00.
