Only half of us will, those with strong immune systems!. It's times like these that make me glad I'm a skinny, pale, asthmatic nerd living in my parents basement. No vector for infection there!
And there will be a Wikipedia Galactica Portable Edition, that gets updated as the database is expanded. It'll have "Don't Panic" on the front in nice, friendly letters.
A G4 processor is perfectly sufficient for the majority of tasks. They are quick, pretty, and easy to use. Last fall, in fact, I picked myself up a used 1ghz. Titanium Powerbook. I don't think I'll need to upgrade for a few years now. Also, with every release of OS X, it's run faster on the same hardware. Meaning that my G3 Tower will get a little kick, along with my Powerbook.
Regarding the G5, I believe that Apple is having a hell of a time getting it to run cool enough and at a low enough wattage to continue the Apple Laptop battery promises. I get 3-4 hours of use from a 3 year old battery. I wouldn't upgrade to a G5 if life dropped to the level of the majority of pc laptops(1.5-3 hours, pentium mobile not included)
Too Much Google? When I googled google on the state of the google in google, I found that google is googling googlers about the emergence of google as a new paradigm in google's google of googles. This googles google on the google of google, by google. for google, with googles googling googles googled.
Because we're more than likely to get into pissing contests over who or what to name the planets after. I certainly wouldn't like to have to visit Planet Nixon or the moon Roosevelt.
I used Small Dog Electronics to get my last powerbook. I picked up a used 1ghz Titanium with airport, combo drive, 512mb ram, and a 60gb for under $1300 shipped overnight. I had an issue with the combo drive when it arrived, so I called smalldog and they shipped me a replacement that day. Really great people to work with and I'm totally pleased with their service.
I beg to differ. When I was younger (say around 9-11) I started getting really terrible headaches for no apparent reason. After being hospitalised several times because they were so painful, it was deduced that perhaps preservatives, such as MSG and Nitrites/Nitrates were the cause. I know exactly how to cause the symptoms to come on too. So I doubt that all cases are part of the mind's doing.
That might have worked back in NT days, however, I think that xp and 2000 have too many ties into the x86 architecture to allow a straight recompile to work. It was Microsoft's plan to get NT to run on _everything_ but when there was no interest in higher-grade workstation market for what was considered a consumer OS. SGI, Sun, and Alpha would have nothing to do with it, that was the realm of the Unixes.
there's a credit card-sized phone at dynamism.com. I'm on dial-up at the moment, otherwise I'd find the link for you. it needs a headset as it lacks a built-in speaker or mic.
1) Accept, without proper testing, Electronic Voting Machines. Pay ridiculous amount. 2) Find out machines suck 3) SUE for Much More than the original cost 4)??? 5)End up with an even larger deficit!
The PCjr was a fantastic system, my first computer at age 1. I remember playing defender on it for days. That computer is the reason I'm now an IT Professional. As an entry-class system, it excelled in what is was designed for.
If you're looking for small and simple, I've found that Damn Small Linux is excellent. It provides a simple, small linux distro that'll fit on one of those little business card cd-rs. It's running fluxbox as a windows manager and includes a whole slew of applications in 50MB of space. Check out the website.

OS X already has native read/write support for both fat32 and NTFS. I have no trouble manipulating corrupted/damaged pc drives on my mac.

But, can you have laundered confederate concurrency? What would that be?
well, I was getting the headaches before I even knew what MSG was. How could I be afraid of something I didn't even know existed?

I've enjoyed reading Edgar Rice Burrough's science fiction stuff from the Gutenberg Project. Very easy to go through one or two in an afternoon.

I'm interested, I live in the bay area and I have a vehicle I can pick them up with. My old high school computer repair class would love to have them.
