Rather than giving children laptops, why dont we work to stabilize thier countrys by helping people become better farmers, teachers, doctors.

I dont mind buying a game new for 50 bucks if its something that will entertain me for a while, but there has been nothing thats grabbed my attention in a long while.
I am unwilling, however, to pay 50 dollars for a game, and then have to pay 10-15 dollars a month for the previledge of playing with my friends online.
How does this process, and biodesiel, compare to E85 in terms of production costs, energy density, and impact on food supply?
Given that the H2O powered fuel cell is the holygrail of power systems, wasn't there a push awhile back to use Ethanol and its easy to break hydrogen bonds as the "fuel" for the fuel cell?
I could see this used as a tool to void warranties. OnStar alerts you to a say a bad sensor, but the vehicle is running fine, then a few months down the road some thing happens to the engine, like a thrown timing belt that bends the camshaft, and suddenly your non compliance with that bad sensor has voided your warranty.

We should teach kids using the pen and paper method. First teach how its done before we give them a tool to do it for them.
I personally won't buy my child a laptop (recertified or new) until they are responsible enough to care for it.

Stem Cells, Cloning, Space Exploration, Quantam Computing, all these courses of study have the ability to alter views on creation itself.
And most people are not willing to pay that price.

I have maybe 50-60 steel pennies from WWII. Why not make them out of something else like steel, or plastic?

Our "old school" teachers are retiring and with them the Paper, Pencil & Practice method that worked so well for so long.
