Practically every mobile app has analytics of some sort. This provides no value whatsoever to the user and wastes power sending data to the server. There are some firewall apps that can do this.

> The fans on the Intel coolers are quiet under common loads Depends on what you consider to be "quiet". If you work in a silent room they are noticably louder than a good after market cooler.
Tegra X1 used to be the fastest ARM/GPU SoC - but now the A9X in the new iPad Pro leaves it in the dust. Meanwhile, the Cortex-A57 is probably one of ARMs worse cores to date. It really needs to be implemented on FinFETs to avoid overheating / throttling and performs poorly compared to custom ARM cores.
Is the game you are thinking of "Draw Something", maybe? Zynga bought it for $210 million and shortly afterwards it fell out of the limelight and the had to write it off as a complete loss
I wonder how well the tracking protection really works. Just looking at the huge amounts of ways that your browser can be fingerprinted - https://wiki.mozilla.org/Finge... - it seems virtually impossible. To start with they already have your IP and there's about a dozen other standard parameters the uniquely identify you. Then there's some crazy shit, like checking system clock time skew.
If we could develop a solar cell with 30% efficiency that is cheap to manufacture and better storage technology we would not need fussion power at all. Those research areas seem a whole lot easier to solve than fusion energy. They just lack funds.
The latest rumour puts Zen release date in Q4 2016. Between then and now there are no new CPU products planned, so they have to survive on Kavari / Carrizo rebadges til then.
As mentioned by others, cookies are only one mechanism. For instance, if you install any wierd fonts on your system - that along with your IP makes your are quite easy to identify. Browsers allow javascipt to query the fonts installed on a system (that feature is really a privacy intrusion bug, IMHO)
Luckly enough, it's not going to be a one-sided win for DirectX this time. Vulkan supports all versions of Windows from XP onwards and for that reason there's a lot of game studios going to use Vulkan instead of DirectX 12. Blizzard and EA and a few others are even Khronos members.
and are they related to Pop Tarts in some way?
I think this would be a great opportunity for Vulkan. Run your games on Windows 7 / Linux with no restrictions...

Maybe there's other stuff too, I don't know.

According to the article it's written in Qt. Maybe it's just the legacy part that's done in .NET
What are you talking about? Tegra X1 came out a few month ago

The new A9X in the new iPad leaves the X1 in the dust. The A9X scores 80 in Manhatten test, while X1 only scores 65

> there's only one single-purpose tool in the kitchenâ"the fire extinguisher...E-readers have been converted for all sorts of other uses
So, you are suggesting we try to put out fires with e-book readers?
Bullshit. That article proves that they have come very close to wiping us out. Really, we've only averted full scale nuclear war by blind luck.
I don't know what your point is exactly. Vulkan will be released in 2 months time
Yeah, Vulkan runs on Linux

Only two posts and this discussion has already been steered off topic. Well done!
Even more interesting question, how does something like Half-Life run on it? Is it a slide show, or is it playable?

! 800 foot wave? You don't need to be near the beach to get hit by that. For instance, that would pretty much wipe out Holland.
masochism?
> These files are scattered throughout your system.
Yep, that sounds like Microsoft. If it was Apple the files would be neatly stored in one location.

That's why I use Pale Moon - which is basically the Firefox UI as it was 5 years ago, but with all the latest core updates.
