    I've owned 3 digital cameras, and set up at least 10 for idiots...
    every one, except a logitech dual purpose (webcam/still cam) could not function to take pictures while the usb connection was in place.. they go into data transfer mode- and the shutter is not available.

    Dear god yes! my hosts file was given me by another- I took a few entries out, and it works for me.. and I immediately stuck it in my Mothers, Fathers, co-workers, and work computers.. (didn't tell them either) I really hope these 'never install' will be easily moved/shared/installed from comp to comp.

    anyone know what's the average in home set size today? strangely, in my (I believe over average) home (2 walking talking adults, one just now-crawler) there are 6 television display capable devices, the largest of which is 25 inches..

    1- we don't have to get 'it' back, just the data*
    2- it doesn't have to support life.. it doesn't have to be fragile.. think of something like an airliner 'black box'
    wrap it in buckyballs except where required for sensor I/O-
    if the sensor gets destroyed by a traumatic event, the recorder is still protected.

    * who knows what would be possible by the time we are ready to 1- send it out 2-get it back.
