in a country with a speed limit of 100 mph, where you max out after, what-3 hours of driving?
there is an upper limit of how long you can focus on driving at high speed.
I don't worry about someone doing 100mph all the way across germany, they start at breakfast and finish with a late lunch.
I'm worried about the guy TRYING TO CROSS THE COUNTRY at 100 mph, in 30 hours of straight driving.. I happen to live on the coast, and don't won't some guy finishing in my house...

Demonstrated infrasonic weapon The U.S. DOD has demonstrated phased arrays of infrasonic emitters. The weapon usually consists of a device that generates sound at about 7 Hz. The output from the device is routed (by pipes) to an array of open emitters, which are usually one wavelength apart. At this frequency, armor and concrete walls and other common building materials vibrate, and therefore provide no defense. The frequency is chosen to be near the resonant frequency of internal organs, causing illness, deafness, and internal injuries.[citation needed] The resulting weapon is the size of a truck, fragile, and has a shorter range than missiles or artillery shells.[citation needed]
As a defense to such a weapon, mechanical "diode walls" to convert the oscillating air into a steady flow have been demonstrated. Although not common at this time, they could be mass-produced and would provide an effective countermeasure.[citation needed]
I know that, and still burned myself. I bought a laser printer rated at 100k sheets per month, and cost $1,999
unfortunately, the page I wanted to print 3000 of at a time- required more memory than the printer could handle at max res, so each page was regenerated..
so I had to wait FOREVER or add ram to the printer or reduce the complexity... one graphic.. reduced quality vs. a lot for more ram (I shoulda bought the 2,400$ version with a duplexer, would have doubled my ram--)

actually, your assertion for A is incorrect you can offer a discount for cash, the rules are clear the largest advertised price must be acceptable for credit card purchases, and a discount can be offered for cash in the same or smaller typeface size.
you cannot advertise $299.00 and then in fontsize one cash only but you can advertise 299.00 and 3% discount for cash or 299.00 and only $293 for cash customers
in the UK, you CAN charge for CC fees on top of the price, so long as this is disclosed in advance.
for B you are correct in law and US CC agreements- but many merchants won't- yer right...
for C- you can offer promotions that tie in to a specific card, as in, gifts when paying with a specific card.. that don't have to be offered with other cards.. I.E. at a hotel, you can offer a one hour late checkout with visa or mastercard payment. or a free carryall 'bag' that cost maybe a buck... (and save 1-2% off the CC company cut)
d) depends on the establishment and type of- and will affect your discount/fee schedule. someone taking internet or telephone orders will not require a signature, but may pay an extra 1-2% more than say a hotel or supermarket which swipes cards- if the swipe fails I pay an extra 1% on that transaction, and still have to do an imprint for evidence of a 'card present' transaction-- I (a service market merchant) must prove card presence for all transactions... if there is a dispute, and I can't prove card presence, I lose automatically.
most online merchants, using the CVV# saves half a point on those transactions

do you mean internet, or WWW? (one is a subset of the other)
in terms of data volume, I doubt the majority of the bits are for plain old ascii.. I bet reading all text on the internet RIGHT NOW would take less time than studying EVERY picture available or watch EVERY video available.
I personally think of it as more along the lines of a communications medium.

I'm not GP poster, but I don't quite agree with you in this particular case.
a REVIEWER better use words the way I and the subject audience expect them to be used.
to describe an object to which I am unfamiliar, with poor english skills, does mean the reviewer fails in their task.
the purpose of the tech review is to use words with which I am familar, to describe something that I am not familar with.
Let's say the review includes the use of the word orange to describe the case.. if it was in fact blue wouldn't that upset you?
if you can flick a single wavelength a million of times a second
or 10,000 wavelengths 1,000 times a second.. what has higher bandwidth?

they are ok at higher volume too.
they rockin'ist factoid is time to first page.
we go through 2 reams a week on our 1320...
we use it for receipts, and time to first page from cool down is important..
for some, 1984 is a warning/vision of a dark future..
for others (elected officals and the like) it's actually quite erotic..

credit cards~ cost the merchant money.
I am a credit card merchant. if someone pays me cash, I get 100% of the funds
if someone pays me via cc, I get from 96-98% of the funds
if I wind up doing a return, I lose 100% of the return.
for some transactions, credit cards are NOT appropriate.
