My rebuttal is "what is apt?". I do know what apt is. However, I don't think mac users loose sleep because they because they don't have a one stop shop for all their needs. If we need it, we know how to get it. Even if Apple added something like that, I don't think Adobe or Microsoft would allow software to be distributed without some draconian measures akin to music distribution on the Mac.

I support temporarily banning NASA from making any efforts toward sending any manned mission to Mars. Modern spaceflight is just to damn primitive. For one, we need a new space shuttle. One that is design for 21st century space flight because there is a lot more hazards up there than were in 1970's. Second, we need better propulsion systems. It takes to much effort to get humans into orbit much less sending them to the moon or any planets. Moreover, modern spaceflight is still a complex precise pagent that does not forgive error. There is no room for improvisation if something goes wrong on the trip to Mars.

If they can't keep 3.7 million illegal aliens out of this country entering since 2000, they certainly can't keep a hand full of terrorists from crossing illegally and not reporting a thing. Statistics tell a different story. I question my government's priorities and their methods.

I don't know of any radioactive dating techniques that are used to date in the 10's million of years. Even with those, the accuracy will vary from researcher to researcher and sample to sample. If they are analyzing the the thickness of sediment layers on the side of a cliff, I can't see how they could claim that resolution. Consequently, the argument is semantic without that resolution because a meteor strike of that magnitude and volcanism in Deccan can both singly devastate massives species like the dinosaurs. Smaller animals are favored in those situations. In fact, I seriously question whether the humans as a species could survive such events.

There is no free market for operating systems. Namely, everyone is a pirate and must be controlled and customers start to believe it themselves! At my school, I need to rebuild the XP Pro on a school computer but I don't have the media. I call the schools IT department and they told me that Microsoft has told them that too many computers have the same license and are hesitant to give me the media.
