I have quit using Mozilla since Firefox 1.0 came out, but one thing I do not like about Firefox is how it fills in forms. In Mozilla I could set it up to only fill in certain forms, (ie name, address, phone and so on) but in Firefox it is all or nothing, and I hate having my search history remembered, so I have totally quit using a feature that I used very often in Mozilla.
According to information at http://developer.intel.com/design/intarch/pentiumi i/pentiumii.htm the current Pentium II's being manufactured are not the same beasts that used to run so hot. These P II's have 256k on die cache and disipate 9.8 and 11.3W @ 266MHz and 333MHz.
I'm sure there are those who will argue about freedoms and consenting adults and such, but I always wonder where one should begin to draw the line on such things. Clearly many would object to advertisement to sites that promote bestiality or child pornography.
Clearly those sites are illegal and that is where the line should be drawn.
I work in an office that gets very cold during the fall and winter and I have noticed that my typing speed decreases dramatically when my hands are cold.
I use a combination of Memtest and Maxtor's Powerdiag software. Maxtor's software will work on any brand hard drive and has fixed quite a few non bootable hard drives long enough to get them Ghosted over to new drives. As for Micro2000, just last week I had a defective IDE controller that passed Micro2000's diagnostic tests just fine, but killed 2 hard drives. Micro2000's memory tests also miss a lot of errors that Memtest finds.
'it costs about $40 to move one gallon of diesel fuel from Kuwait to Baghdad.' At least that's what it costs if the company moving it doesn't have to bid to get the contract.
I just saw Pearl Jam last week in Wash. DC. Each concert is being released on CD, while this is a good way to remember the show (especially after all that beer @ $6 a cup), I wonder how much the record company had to do with this idea. I really hope all the extra money PJ is making is going to good causes.
I owned a Xpert@Play and a Rage 128, never again will I own an ATI video card. When I owned the 128, I had to use multiple versions of unofficial drivers to play various games. Do you know what a pain in the ass it is to have to install a different set of drivers each time you want to play a different game? I work in a computer store, and we do not stock ATI video cards because of my experiences. Will ATI ever learn?
Even without the Ultra card nVidia will be fine. Hardware is not the only thing that makes a card, drivers are more important. Anyone who has ever owned an ATI card knows just how hideous the drivers are. (hideous is almost too kind)
I rarely play games, but seeing how the semester is almost over and I will have some free time on my hands I decided to give Morrowind a try. Upon trying to run the game the first time I get an error telling me to reinsert the cd and try again. After reinserting and trying again I get the same error. So, I go the Bethesda's support site, seems the problem is copy protection related. Bethesda says to try upgrading cdrom drive firmware (no new firmware for my drive), unload progs that load on startup, and disable dma. I don't know about you but I am not disabling dma just to play some stupid fucking game. So I send Bethesda an email telling them about my problem and request a refund.(I do not have a receipt because I recieved the game as a gift a few months ago remember I don't play many games so it has been gathering dust for a while). Anyway here is the reply I recieved from Bethesda.

As you can see this is the biggest bunch of bullshit ever and has persuaded me to never buy anything from Bethesda even if id Software decides to release all of there upcoming games through Bethesda (which is not going to happen but I am trying to make a point)
I just got done RMAing 50 Quantum/Maxtor hard drives. The computer store where I build pc's offers a standard 3 yr war. we are trying to find another hd manfacturer with 3 yr war.
Off the Wall and Off the Hook are two excellent "geeky" audio shows freely downloadable from 2600.com.
You would think they would be smart enough to put Google search on the homepage?
More important to your marketablility than additional education, would be more work experience.
Wouldn't cordless phones set this thing off constantly?
Just look at the Steve Ballmer video http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/01/24/015721 8&tid=133&tid=109. In the video Windows 1.0 is selling for $99.00 retail, now Windows XP Home sells for $184.99 retail.
Microsoft is doing that now with Windows Media Center.

Slashdot is an excellent example of why to include IE rendering. I see Slashdot render incorrectly in Mozilla and Firefox all the time.

They seem to be running 512MB of RAM in dual channel mode, that really does not seem like a small amount of RAM to me.

My main computer is using a floppy drive from a 91 Packard Bell 386SX.
Samsung's ML-1650 offers Linux compatability and Postscript level III as an option. All for around $300.
Another reason for cd sales dropping is the poor quality of the music being pumped out by major record labels.
