I got a note in my box from the (local western Pennsylvania) LUG, which describes a talk from a state trooper who said that wardriving was illegal. After years of debunking, talking nicely to less-informed journalists, and even having an FBI agents on video say otherwise, there is still a lack of understanding.
I heard at my last contract that they didn't use SSH because it was "inherently insecure." They used telnet instead.
Best thing to do, is be patient, try to educate the uninformed, and convince others to do the same.
Just don't get too angry, or they won't want to listen to you in the first place.
I think that a rechargable battery-powered alarm clock, which won't stop beeping until I take it into the shower with me is what I want. After the thing gets wet, it should play the news until it dries off.
I like the idea of the wheels, where the thing can roll off the night-table (S390, 670MP, etc) and hides is great, but some practical purposes ontop of just being an alarm clock would really be useful to me. News in the morning is important. Making me take the alarm clock into the shower in order to get news might be best.
Seriously. Why does a color screen become a feature? Yes, some people think that all they need is a color screen on their phone to be happy -- but there's nothing behind it.
I have to point people at things like Semacode, which is a really neat use for cameraphones -- it's a method of encoding a URL into a 2D barcode for printing. Shoot the barcode with your cameraphone, and the applet extracts it back into a URL for easy retrieval.
Also, you're right -- SMS is neat, but not neat enough to be a flagship product. We need data. I need to postmyphotos without paying my phone provider $.40 for each posting -- it's bullshit.
I blog. I am not a professional journalist, though. That being said, I should *STILL* be able to say what I want, and not have to divulge my sources to anyone. Hell, I could be full of shit, or spot-on dandy. I should not fear being sued or violating other people's personal information for what I post in my blog, however.
Yes, I have been inspired by Star Trek, but I do not work on space vehicles, or even pieces of them -- I wish I did.
Star Trek, and other Sci-Fi shows have influenced me since I was a small kid, with images of Captain Kirk and the Gorn duking it out. My Pop and I would watch, and have discussions of the future all throughout my childhood, adolescense, and (whatever excuse for) adulthood.
Trek is Trek, and I appreciate even Captain janeway and her personal issues to shows depicting people less interesting than I with their goofy friends.
Because of Star Trek (in any format), my goal is to help build the future.

Rock-on, loved Pee Pants bit! How did you get to be voice talent for cartoons? Did they track you down like a wild animal, did you pester them incessantly, or do you know people?
I asked someone for advice on how to deal with our triangulation, and he said "Spherical Trigonometry," and sent me a URL. I printed it out, and took one look at it. The hair on the back of my neck hasn't stopped standing on end since!
Of course, we're using GPS coords, in addition to signal strength.
No, Pittsburgh (and the Post Gazette) are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind the times. Takes a few years for people to hear about news outside of our dinky little town.
Actually, no. Since spammers harvest my domain email account, I get TONS of spam every day to that account. PLUS, Verisign send spam, and it's nearly impossible to pick-out the proper messages.
I lost TONS of domains to this, and to being unemployed for so long. Went from 140 domains down to 6!
It makes sense to me. Take the show off the air, and let me pay for it this way -- up front. Give me some updates on progress, pictures, etc.
Perhaps fans should instead, buy the rights to ST, and release it into the public domain -- I haven't read any fan-fiction, but I would expect that some of it is quite good, and far better than some of the drivel that irks lots of us fans.
Also, there are a couple of fan-generated serieses, which I would also watch -- just because it is Trek.
I think the Twiddler is a more apt keyboard for wearable computing, but it would be better to have something less complex, and much cheaper.
Also, what do those of us do with the HUD when we don't wear glasses? I figure, LEDs at the end of the mic, for notification -- I don't think we need screens for everything anymore.
See? All kinds of companies NEED COMPETENT SYSADMINS!!! There are stupid HR ladies who will hire their sysadmins because they have prior construction-contractor experience. Maybe I should've gotten a degree...

Actually, by today's standards, they are end-tables, and not computers! =_)

Ah-Hahahahahahaahahahha!
Sorry, had to laugh. That was funny. Back to my Windows NT...
Mod parent up.

Perhaps Web Talk Radio might be a good answer? I'm biased 'cause I did a segment with them, tho.
Perhaps there will be jobs in China for me to work in? At least the food is better, if not as diverse.

It's almost scary, I take lots of pictures with my cameraphone, and it would be too bad if I had to worry about what it is that I take pictures of.
You can always check WiFiMaps.com, or Pittsburgh's Wireless Community.
I use the Knoppix MythTV distro.
Duh! This is how scaling works best. Of course, I am not technical enough to work at Google, so don't ask me!

Call it surWIver, or Wi-Fi Rally, or whatever. Neet idea for my next video segment for tv.
I personally prefer to see recruiters fight to the death for my amusement!

Interessting concept. I wish I knew how this could be done, or automated...
Massachusetts. They will also unregister you to vote, cancel your license, and your insurance, and you won't know until you're pulled over.

Heard Shatner with Ben Folds -- Awesome.
Absolutely. Also, this is a two handed device.

You left out firing the executive producer from Star Trek out of a cannon!
