I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm with AOL on this one. Their customers are not techies. The Windows Messenger service is a worthless spam hole. I just hope AOL doesn't start misusing the trust of its customers to add "new" enhancements.
Apple's professional line of video software (DVD Studio Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc) requires a G4 processor. I assume the new iBook can now run these applications. This is great news - a lower end machine that can run some very powerful software. Get that DV cam out! My powerbook elitism declined this morning.
Check the number of comments within Apple articles vs. the rest. We love Apple stories on Slashdot, they generate great discussions. BTW you can remove Apple stories from your main page if you want. Problem solved.
First medicine for the sick and elderly, now college textbooks. Why are Americans pushing profit margins up for these companies by paying higher prices than other prosperous countries?
"It was reported that astrophysicist Stephen Hawking recently visited a London strip club. While at the strip club, Hawking was overheard saying, 'Hey, the universe isn't the only thing that's expanding.'"
iTunes is great because it's really a smart database application. There's even a tool that lets you do SQL queries against it. The DB smarts are what make iTunes so great - smart playlists - play only 80's songs without having to actually create the playlist. One smart playlist continually tracks the 25 most listened-to songs.
The real beauty is the iPod integration. Every time I plug in the iPod it does 2 things: It starts charging and it completely syncs to the iTunes database. My iPod is an identical copy in every way, including MP3 metadata, playlists, EQ settings for every song, etc. Buy a song from the iTunes music store, boom its on your iPod too.
The Windows version, if it remains consistent with the Mac version will blow Winamp out of the water. I can't wait. I'll finally have my music DB's synced at work too.
To appease former customers, Intuit will be including a free Speaker Bracelet in-box with a purchase of next year's Turbo Tax. According to President Lardass of Intuit: We've got candle trucks of these things ready to go!
Didn't you see my sig? I get chicks the old fashioned way...I play in a band and woo them with my funky guitar lines, long blonde hair, tight pants, and hot rhythms. Ok not really.
I hope Apple wins and these kids get iBooks with an airport card. I have a G4 Powerbook and my girlfriend has a 900mhz iBook, and I have to tell you, I'm not really sure where my extra $1000 went.
Jaguar's price was "worth it" because of the speed increases. This time around I'm satisfied that there's anough new functionality that I'll be putting down the cash.
A lot of the producers I'm in touch with like to record onto -- get this-- analog first, then export the analog recordings to nuendo or pro tools. Lots of engineers think that 96k recordings are still too digital. Go to tape first, export to protools, voila, best of both worlds.

If the individual can get a Delta 44 sound card installed, they get my vote.

Expect iPod sales to soar into the holidays. Apple made something very difficult seem very simple to the end user, and now they're being rewarded.
You probably didn't complain watching all the Simpsons episodes that guy wrote, back in the heyday of that show...
Conan O'Brien said it best:
"It was reported that astrophysicist Stephen Hawking recently visited a London strip club. While at the strip club, Hawking was overheard saying, 'Hey, the universe isn't the only thing that's expanding.'"
The first reality show featuring Stephen Hawking! No strip club cam, please.
The screen shots must have been carried off on a candle truck. I don't see them.
Big Mac achieves around 14 TFlops...
All this time the answer to my supercomputing needs was at McDonalds. What a burger!
How many libraries of congress is this per second?

Where have all the intelligent moderators ga-oh-ahn?
I wrote a speaker bracelet module. Alas, it's been rejected because I turned it in too late. It was really cool though.
I thought Mr. Takamori had asked me what a "Crow Rock" was. I just shrugged.

"No word on what OS the Dell laptops would run."
That can't be a serious statement.

Anyone know where Cowboy Neal ranked?
Maybe some jobs will be created out of this. We need them badly.

My great grandfather Juan Manuel Vasquez De La Pena invented the Scroll Lock key. Where would you be without that?
Sorry, I'll try not to be wasted next time I post.
