So to try it I downloaded and ran in in qemu as per the instructions.
Playing around a bit I noticed this:
root@debian:~# uname -a
GNU debian 0.3 GNU-Mach 1.3.99/Hurd-0.3 i686-AT386 GNU
root@debian:~# cat/proc/version Linux version 2.6.1 (GNU 0.3 GNU-Mach 1.3.99/Hurd-0.3 i686-AT386)
Just a small note.
When I started iTunes 7 for the first time it just wouldn't play any music. The problem was the sound plugin OSS 3D which I had to remove for everything to work again:)
Just have to wait for the OSS 3D developers to adapt their plugin for iTunes 7 now....
Either you have been very unlucky or I've been very lucky. My iBook has now lasted me 2 and a half years, and it's been through a lot. My only complaint now is that the battery is on it's last breath, lasting only one hour on full charge:(
The most annoying point is that when you tell them that you don't really know how to fix their problem they think that the neighbour teenage gamer who is using windows is much better than you when it comes to computers.
You might not have exaggerated as much as you might think, the different windows versions are intentionally not compatible with different kinds of software, thus causing fragmentation.
Take ISS and MS SQL server for example, you can forget about running them on anything other then at least the professional version.
This is like saying that you can not run apache and MySQL/postgreSQL on your ubuntu desktop distribution.
Even though it is possible to enter the ssid, for me the ds would not connect to my router (dlink G604T firmware 2.0) for some reason when it was not broadcasting the ssid.
When I really started taking an interest in programming I actually started by learning perl! It helped me move on to C later sicne the syntax is rather simular.
Now I'm at my final year at uni with high marks in all my programming subjects. (Even got full marks for a Systems administration programming assignment that I wrote in perl;))
Or Sony and MS basically split their part of the market and Nintendo earns a healthy third place
Or even better, Sony and MS splits the market in half, and most of the playstation and xbox owners also buy a revolution due to it's uniqueness. Thus making nintendos' console the top selling one.
I'm starting to believe that they only approve stories with bad grammar and spelling mistakes. All the stories I have submitted have been rejected so far... I think next time I'll skip the spelling and grammar check..
Wouldn't this really make modchips for xbox360 illegal?
Ms could argue that the modchip is an accessory to their console. If that is the case I highly doubt that they will give anyone a licence to manufacture the modchips
Me and a friend of mine set up a email virus filter with using MacAfee's AV during that time.
The support for it was horrible and I ended up hacking up my own script to pull the virus definition files from their ftp sites every night, because their script just wouldn't work.
I am even more intrigued that we have people posting this crap (as if we didn't already know it was all bullshit) to their blogs and making themselves sound like they know something we don't.
I feel hit!
But I do it more to vent when I read other forums with ignorant fanboys of different consoles. I highly doubt that anyone reads what I write though because no one knows the address;)
It also means that if I change my preferred language in System Preferences (or just change to a different dialect, like British English instead of U. S. English) and relaunch my applications, spell check works with the new language automatically.
There is no need to restart the application, just right click and text, choose spelling->spelling... and change your dictionary in that dialogue box.
I do this all the time to switch between Swedish and English.
I don't have any exact numbers but there are vast areas of Sweden that aren't that densely populated either (mostly up north). It is not feasible to give a super fast internet connection to everyone but in the populated areas I don't see why not.
Followed the link until I here:
/proc/version

So maybe you're right in calling it Linux

I'm not trying to say that Linux is particularly good with WiFi, just that Windows's wireless networking is as screwy as the rest of the OS.
:)
Don't worry, in vista they have managed to get the latest bsd networking code including the wifi stuff

I think Nintendo has been watching this flash animation too many times: http://www.threebrain.com/weeeeee.shtml
I think so too.. I've got a machine running tiger with the dev tools installed and vmmap exists here.

This 1.2:1 decline should indicate only 1 thing, Nintendo is spending more.
They are gearing up for the next console generation, that is all.
I suggest a change of title of the aritcle
Nintendo is spending a lot of money on its next generation console and they are still making a profit!
I use rm -fr too, but that's only because I disslike the fr[ench]...

This also works on windows 3.x
The step doesn't seem to steep. I can see myself clicking on a "smart pile" and the files "spring out" like that apple patent talks about....

Windows users are really patient to put up with things like this, having spyware invading my computer from time to time would drive me crazy.
