Why would I need this? I already have a webkit browser with tabs on top.
Because multiple players means competition, and competition means innovation, which leads to a better browsing experience for all of us, regardless of which you're using.
As to the story I hope they make it a prequel or otherwise not have Garret as the main character. The whole Thief mythos was pretty much played out at the end of Thief 3 and a continuation would just feel tacked on (Thief 1 & 2 heavily explored the Pagans and the Hammerites, Thief 3 basically removed the Keepers).
The end of Thief3 paved the way for a sequel. Garret more or less came full circle, taking an apprentice in almost exactly the same was he himself was when he was a child. It has a lot of potential - personally, I'd like to see the new girl have more of an acrobatic lean with perhaps not quite Garret's godly skill at hiding in shadows (which is undoubtedly even more impressive now that he is essentially THE Keeper).
I really, really wish they had a way of moving their operations offshore and sending S-E a letter that was nothing more that a large picture of them giving the camera the finger.
Alas, I doubt they have the funds for such a thing.
Might want to put the IANAL first next time, since you're pretty clearly wrong on all counts in this case.
Yes, your stated intent is right. Is IS illegal to modify an author's content without their consent. However, tools like ABP/NS are NOT modifying the author's content. They're modifying how it is presented to the user. As the reply above me stated, it's no more copyright infringement than ripping pages out of a book, or covering parts of the the TV screen when I'm watching TV.
MS then came out with the Active Desktop, showing that IE was just absolutely, completely technically required for the latest OS release - I recall dimly that it was Win2k.
Actually, Active Desktop was included in Win98. I have several fond memories of setting my roomate's desktop to random porn sites and then listening to his cries of agony as he was bombarded with popups and malware installs shortly after.
Forget Roper. Knowing that Jack Emmert is involved is all I need to know in order to stay away from this game. He nearly ruined the original CoH before he left with his constant striving towards what HE saw as the ideal Superhero MMO, even though it was in contradiction to what the game's subscription base actually wanted.
Indeed. Unlike WoW, it doesn't have or need an assload of addons to make it functional. Every piece of the UI is resizable, movable, and skinnable. I quite enjoy not having to redownload a dozen addons whenever a new patch is released.
Except that he's president-elect of America, which, last time I checked, wasn't a member of the EU. Besides, hopefully his Change mantra will include the US not strong-arming other nations into doing what we want.
The only way to really kill gold selling is counterproductive to business. The only true way to kill a parasite is to kill its host - in other words, you need to ban not just the sellers, but also the BUYERS as well. And you need to heavily, heavily advertise the fact. Once enough players get it through their skulls that buying gold will get their ass banned, the purchases should slow enough that it should cease being profitable to the gold sellers, forcing them to move to another game.
Entering text would be a complete pain in the ass and unless LotRO has built in voice support that everyone uses the console version would suffer due to a lack of Ventrilo or Team Speak support as voice communication is fairly vital in executing raid encounters. I suppose it could be included with the game, but that means getting it to work on both or either the PS3 and Xbox 360 and all the additional hassles that go along with that.
For the record, LotRO does in fact have built-in voice chat, for better or worse.
Aion looks fabulous, so far. Flight looks amazing, and the world seems very polished. However, I've yet to play an Asian MMO that didn't bore me to tears through the use of grind, grind, and more grind. If what they mean by combining the East and West is that it avoids this mind-numbing grind that Asian MMOs seem to adore, I may give it a shot.
Old E3: New games, for gamers, and coverage by gamers.
New E3: New games, for the PR/Hype machines, and coverage by journalists pretending to be gamers.
Or, if this DOES become a real problem, simply purchase a computer from your local mom and pop PC place. If they're anything like the ones here, they'll be happy to set you up with whatever OS you want, be it XP, Vista, or *nix.

Really? That build of FireFox you're using today would be barely recognizable if Opera had never come into being.
Because obviously if Opera hadn't thought of some of the ideas implemented, then it would have been nigh impossible for somebody else to, right?
Why did you add an M?

Hardly. I'd much rather see another Elder Scrolls game than another Fallout.

Good times.
No, it's not.
I'll meet your Obligatory xkcd and raise you one Penny Arcade, good sir.

I guess these are just hard times for everyone.

Sorry, but you lost all credibility the moment you posted a link to Fox News.
Nonsense. Everybody who's anybody knows the real tax you pay with a Mac is the pain of being hipper than all of your friends.
You're assuming that EULAs are a valid and legally binding contract.

Actually, this is the biggest obstacle to online play. Lag would be a close second, though.

A misleading slashdot summary?
I'm shocked, shocked I tell you.
This article told me I code like a woman. I knew playing all those female characters in RPGs would come back to haunt me.
