im 20, married, 2 kids...i know i play a dozen hours of games a week, and 5 years ago when i was a kid? at least 30 a week, maybe more like 40.
of course, being in a small town with pop-culture crazy kids (or rednecks, oh the agony) and a strip-mall not even deserving of the title of strip-mall, videogames, LEGO's and books (fiction, history, computers) were about all i did. oh, and school, but i didnt really do anything there so it doesnt count does it?
which, i suppose, means that all this fine money goes into a "keep the RIAA in power" fund and not to the artists that music downloaders are "harming" right?
they arent trying to create a behavior change, theyre trying to usher a response in the form of a decision to enlist in the army.
i really doubt as a recruiting tool its that effective. I know that there are alot of freaking idiots in this country, and an enourmous amount of them migrate towards online gaming as a passtime (grrr n00bs!) but how many can really be so stupid as to join the army because of this game? If team killing is even half as bad as it is in other team games i wouldnt dare play this and consider joining the US Army.
firearms are used to blow open doors(i saw it in HEAT with DeNiro!)
firearms can be used to hurt things...i remember when i was playing Soldier of Fortune 2 the other day and i had to run around one level knocking guys out with the butt of a gun, no shooting allowed!
flare guns, similar in build to a firearm, is used in emergency situations where one needs to be rescued, or does not have a proper firearm and needs to kill someone...forget that last thing:)

wish they would have included benchies for the athlon64 at stock speeds.
i agree
the movie disappointed me, Fellowship was very good. The Two Towers had some good spots, but they re-wrote far too much of it. Some of the battle scenes were good, and I enjoyed the Warg fight.
Of course, I liked Gimli a bit in the books (along with all things dwarf related in Tolkiens works) but for the most part they made gimli out to be a pansy, which was just wrong.
i loved my 8500...the only reason i switched to a geforce 3 was drivers, when i installed one series of the catalyst 3.x drivers, it literally ruined my system
the same drivers ruined my brothers as well, we both had to reinstall. the 8500 was a tad better with aa/af i think than this gf3, otherwise the performance is so close i cant tell, and the nvidia drivers have never ruined a thing for me
from my experienece with broken equipment.bad wiring
if its not fixed, its downtime, if its downtime, you arent making money
if you arent making money, theres no budget
fsck the budget and get a preofessional, experienced, licensed electrician so you can reduce downtime and start making money again.
i happen to keep up with a very experienced electrician in town, if im in a mess, hes there in under an hour (usually under 30 minutes) and cost is NEVER a consideration (even though he well over $60/hr, plus a partner in many cases)
im tired of linux users preferring that linux remain a pain in the ass to use, and be so cli-driven as to be aggravating. sure, you may not mind...but what damn hard does a graphical installer do?
ive installed debian, took a couple hours to go through and select everything i wanted and set stuff up right; which was annoying in the very least, and time consuming
god forbid people suggest all linux distros use a simple graphical installer...or one that doesnt suck anyway. bats outta hell those guys. personally, im sticking with mandrake for a while. the installer is simple, and so far everything else is working without a problem, or a reason to try another distro anytime soon.
ive got the debian install disc around for when i get some skills, so i can be l33t and bitch about how pretty and easy linux is getting to be because of "those damned windows users"
seems to me that if its easier to use, more people will use it, which will prompt more/better developement and support for Linux which is a damned good thing, im almost ready to rid my box of windows (and heavily considered doing so when i built it a few months ago)
the sole reason i paid for Windows XP was not the looks; linux can look just as good, and be just as easy to use and just as productive(finally!) i wanted games, and linux cant QUITE offer enough of them up for me, when it can, anandtechs forums will see a For Sale: Windows XP thread started by me:)
i loved it
i just got another copy today and am enjoying it
graphics are splendid, but they dont suck
the maps are ENOURMOUS
and the units have a large variety (150 units in the game out of the box, red alert had under 40)
love this game, i wont lose it again!
other things you should know:
if you missed a story
wait anywhere between 3 days and a year for the repost
if you thought grammer would be professional and at least spell-checked...dont hold your breath
i remember a few years ago a game called Terminus had a Linux, MAc and Windows version all on one disc
game semi-sucked tho so no one made much noise about it, i liked it somewhat...and since i still have it and just put linux on it, i think ill fire it up this weekend
ahhhh
