Both would probably do better as a series since they create developed realities with lots of potential for 'new' story lines. Sandman does have much more of a limited story arc overall, where American Gods, as well as I recall doesn't really. For an American Gods series, I'm concerned it would just be like Supernatural, which really comes off as somebody wanted to do a Hellblazer or American Gods series, but couldn't get permission.
Yeah I got a Wii by pure luck; a co-worker happened to be at the store when they put them out over lunch and he called me at work and basically, my office cleaned them out in a matter of minutes.
the funniest thing was the stack of 60GB ps3's sitting on the shelf nobody had been touching.
I don't think they're all that bad, I get the impression that many who comment on them A) never read all of the first 6 dunes books, especially more than once, and B) Just like to bitch.
My biggest annoyance is the ranked server stragety. They are closing access to parts of the game unless you play on server they essentially control. They significantly overprice the servers and allow very little variation in how they work.
This is killing the user base at a lot of the smaller non-profit sites that have high traffic and aren't able to afford the massive bandwith requirements and the pricetag of a ranked server.
I suspect that once people get off the 'new release' high and can't afford to keep the ranked server's they are renting this will start to collapse the user base.
Also, they don't allow any mods on the ranked servers and have yet to release the mod tools that were promised a long time ago.
So good bye mod community for BF2 as well.
Whatever good intentions they purported to have were either lost on the way to the bank, or they had no intention on delivering anything other than profits to their bottom line.
So sure, go ahead, it makes the investors happy. But it's only a matter of time before someone else will exploit their obvious weakness to put out something that will last.
Backups, espcially in a heterogeneous, multi initiator environment, is one of the most complicated things you can bother to work on. Not to mention when you start doing all the filsyetem muddling stuff.
I support NetBackup, and it pretty much helps to know *everything* on every OS.. that includes stuff like open VMS and MPE-IX.
Console: too many.. the usuals mentioned here, plus crono trigger, contra, metal gear etc. P.C - single player games - the wing commander / mechwarrior stuff was great. early wing commander made a bin impact on me. I remember dreaming in "warcraft", etc.

quake, more importantly TF - I still play that after all the years. but you can't help but mention my first "online" game style... muds.. found off gopher.. before that whole web thing started.. I feel really old now.

I know of 3 people who bought a PS3 as a BlueRay player, and one person who bought it to play games.
I know 15 people who have bought or plan to buy a wii if they can ever find one.
Hey, that's coming with Hl2 ep2.
OMG I was totally thinking this yesterday, so

The series 3 remote is textured and weighted to avoid the backwards thing.

Maybe ID and Raven are paying attention.
Hm.. yeah. And I'll just go play BF2 when it comes out.
Consoles are still not as much fun as PC games.
honestly? It can be a real pain.
Just port him over to doom3 and you'll be happy.
HL2 ended with the fanciest vesion of breakout ever.
The beginning of the game was great, but the last half...
I've yet to play a game that feels so much like the budget ran out for the last few hours. The game should have been twice the legnth.
and good typing skills are stupid, but beer = good.
as someone who was "forced" to give up on qwtf and play q3f, I'll have to say,, this is much more like qwtf.. and that is good.

Last I looked NetBackup alone supplies the largest precentage of VERITAS's entire income.
it's up there somewhere.
