    AOL does this all the time. Comcast was blacklisted by aol a while back, sending to AOL addresses would bounce. (!) The problem was fixed very quickly, and comcast is a VERY large ISP. Just call again, keep bugging them, and hope for the best.

    You aren't limited to drive letters for mounting volumes, volumes can now be mounted as ntfs folders, this has been around since NT4.

    And under winNT/2k/XP the system folder is RESTRICTED unless you are administrator, most programs install their stuff to program files and common stuff to program files\common files. Game savegames are now beginning to be stored in my documents\my saved games, etc.

    Makes alot more sense then bin, sbin, usr, etc.

    My documents is NOT located in the windows folder. My documents is located in Documents And Settings\username\My Documents. This folder can be made private.

    Don't speak of an OS you know nothing about.

    Sounds like sex ;) Ok, lame jokes aside, you are right to a point. The main reason people like mp3s are ACCESIBILITY. You can use programs like WinMX, etc. from ANY computer ANYWHERE in the world. You don't have to worry about paying for the music either. As long as you have internet access you are good to go.

    Work is being done on the ROS GUI, windowing is still being implemented. I personally am helping out in this area (or at least trying to) so i assure you there is in fact work being done, don't like how slow things are progressing? help out! ROS is starving for ready and able developers.

    Pentium 4 anyone? Sorry, couldn't resist! :) Seriously, It seems like computer processing power has flatlined for the most part since 2000, granted there have been MHz increases, but processors have been coming less powerful (in the case of the P4) or have been slow to ramp up (speed wise, in the case of the athlon)

    I have an Maxtor 110 mb drive that came out in the early 90s (around 92 or 93) that still works great today. It has windows 3.1 on it and I never have an problems with it. (or the 386 it's in) and it's IDE

    Sadly what he says is extremely true. In 50-100 years I expect the good old land of the free (USA) to be just as bad as china, if not worse. It's human nature to want to dominate, nothing can change that. Humans always want more power, and when they have it, they want to take steps to keep others distanced below them.

    One idea would be to convert stock quotes or weather info to a gif/jpg/png file in real time and rotate it.

    I REALLY like pheonix (and mozilla for that matter) because it doesn't ask me if I wanna install flash every time I visit a page that uses flash, so I can keep the flash ads to a minimum.

    Seriously, things are going way too far. This is clearly an infringement on freedom of speech. Dictionary.com defines visa as:

    An official authorization appended to a passport, permitting entry into and travel within a particular country or region.

    I thought words in the dictionary weren't copyrightable? Can anyone shed some light on this subject?

    1) I didn't see any mhz figures. Was this chip running at 1.8 ghz as well? 2) How does this chip fair performance wise with desktop CPUs? Sounds like transmeta might finally be onto something. I've heard that via was developing a clone of the p4, what ever happened to this clone?
