I believe the question was: "If they never had a label, would they have had a chance in hell at becoming popular enough to sell that many albums online?"
Well, I'm a gamer, and I want to get out of windows. Macs have (in general) expensive and crappy hardware (though arguably they run more efficiently), and Linux is still a joke for games. I don't like waiting 3 months after a driver release to actually be able to use them.
If it actually worked, I'd move to linux extremely quick.
Meh, I've pre-ordered it and I can say I'd personally pay $50 for just TF2 (being a broke college student, that does kinda have some weight). Its fun, and its a lot of fucking content for $50. Can't wait for portal.
Analogy to prove that your line of thinking is wrong:
In a democracy, shouldn't we, the people, be deciding if we are allowed to kill (Insert_Minority_Here) because they're colored differently?
Extreme example (ya think??), but please, theres so many stupid comments going on any time someone brings up copyright protections they need to be shot down.
Its almost a brand new industry (though with a lot of old players), and the price has dropped like a rock in the last 10 years. Its almost becoming a commodity now!
One would imagine it would be extremely hard to get any of this into evidence. But might it be used to lower MDs credibility with a judge, so that the judge would force a discovery?
And anyone who doesn't at least put on a show of trying to respect the choices of a teenager obviously forgot what exactly goes through their head when their parents say "because I said so".
Imagine the crew's reaction when they found out after landing!
"Enough is ENOUGH! I have HAD it with these MOTHERFUCKING NUKES on this MOTHERFUCKING PLANE!"
Funny-point farming aside... this scares the living shit out of me. The fact that we were TOLD means that either the people in charge of locking this shit down are incompetent (scary), or it was leaked to cover up for something even worse (scarier).
Wouldn't that be (Score: 2,3 Possibly Insightful)?
Sheesh, theres more gay republicans than democrats it seems.
Also: theres no real "rice rocket" mode for the linux distro, all it has is a '89 honda windjammer with thin tires (I'm talking about games here).
The number of furries in the world just tripled :P

Theres a difference between thermal analysis and environmental stress testing.
No warning that linux.com and /. are owned by same company?
Makes one wonder if Halo would be nearly as popular if it was released as a PC/Mac game.
Personally, I think Gordon Freeman beats the crap out of Master Chief any day of the week.

Or a more colorful one where people can express their individual beliefs to their neighbor without a language barrier.

Unless your deity happens to be Darl. It'd be hard to be happy for his sake about now.

... did they seriously use the wrong "their"?
Man, you'd think the OCD would kick in eventually with these hacker blokes.

I'd imagine some editors actually have a sense of humor and like to poke fun at grammar/spelling trolls.
Well my only suggestion would be to save the rant until after you've seen how they implement it.
I'd hate to see the video ad for a misspell of "My brother's ex with a goat".
Outside of a nutshell?
Must be a pretty big nutshell to fit a commsat.
Yeah man, fuck them. Oh wait, $1.98 for a song and a ringtone when I just paid sprint $3.50 to RENT one for 3 months.
