That's not true. You can try sending messages to yourself and checking your message count online, even if you don't read them. Besides, I can see most of a txt message in the preview popup on my Treo before I even open it. I can also mark them as read/unread, just like email messages.

Also there would be the maintenece costs of the cables themselves. I think the whole point for microwave power is that it would be the most effiecent means. Also, we have the technology now instead of waiting for them to figure out how to make a cable for the space elevator out of this miracle nano tube stuff.
I think some companies like to use the hold time for ads. However, this can backfire if you leave people on hold too long, because they will get more upset and start making up their own "versions" of your ads. I think what works best is some easy listening or classical music from a local radio station. This way you get the variety that you would not have to keep up with yourself.

But our schedules are pretty flexible, so any errands that I need to run during the day, I can, and then just work a little later in the evening.
